Jared Lee Loughner killed a federal judge. Executing him is not an option, it is a mandate. Stupid question btw...duh

Loughner murdered a federal judge...execution is not an option, it's a mandate...end of argument. It is sad that another Tusconan has to die, that his parents have to suffer, it's all a Tucson thing...but, in this case, Judge Roll died, so must Loughner. The End

Capital punishment is in the Bible. What do you lovey-dovey killer-huggers think that "Eye for an eye" means? God killed off those who disobeyed His Commandments, and will continue to do so.

Looks like about 77% on this Topix poll disagree with you. Capital punishment is the law of the land.

That isn't what is done, so your comment is irrelevant. Murderers are executed to approach justice.

Consider that since in some religions and spirituality man believes himself to be not only a product of God, but he is God and God is man within. If humans consider themselves the sons and daughters of God or of a god, then man should have the autonomy to make a justly decision of rather or not a sick or ill-individual should continue to live or die among the race of mankind itself, esp. considering these extreme circumstances.

here is my 2 cents . the death penalty should absolutely be kept and enforced in every state , but with a change to how it is done .

if a person is sentenced to the death penalty that person should be put to death . he should not be put to death by the state however . the process should be the same but instead of some nameless , faceless , unconcerned person pulling the switch , it should be the next of kin to the deceased , the husband , wife , mom , dad , etc . if that person can do the deed of killing the convicted themselves then the person should die . if they are unable to kill the convicted person themselves then the sentence should then be changed to life in prison .

people who are against the death penalty may feel differently if it is someone who was actually effected who gets retribution . people who are for the death penalty may feel differently if it is them who actually has to do the killing . as we all know it is very much a different story to kill something yourself than it is to have someone else do it for you .

It is far more expensive for taxpayers, its cruel, and there is a good chance that either the verdict is wrong or that mitigating evidence should have swayed the jury
