Democrats are holding out on much needed reform. They want to keep spending like they've been doing without any change, that's what got us into this mess in the first place, unrestrained spending.

Just a comment here. Wouldn't there be unforeseen consequences if spending is cut dramatically and suddenly? My experience says over-the-limit spending should be cut over a period of time. Regardless, if the debt is 14 trillion but we are planning to reduce around 2 trillion over next 10 years what good would it do. I have not done a lot of reading on this topic nor do i follow what is going on in the political world, but, basic common sense seems to have been defied here. After all, can politicians be financial experts?
