The Tea Party has managed to marginalize itself with its radical views. None of these folks knows how to "play nice with others."

Guess that's why more Democrats voted AGAINST the bill than Republicans in the house, because the Tea Party doesn't want to play nice....

Seems to me the deal would have been done alot earlier except for BHO playing games. Glad to see the Tea Party standing up strong and holding the line against the tax and spend policies that got us in this mess to begin with.

The Tea Party was bankrolled by Billionaires at it's inception. The Tea Party hit the ground fully funded and ready to rumble. The Tea Party was built around the philosophy of the atheist Ayn Rand. Ayn Rand idolized the industrial and business tycoons of her day. Anything the tycoons liked, Ayn Rand liked. Anything they hated, she hated. Ayn Rand despised Christianity because it teaches love and compassion, attributes Ayn Rand detested. Ayn Rand taught personal greed and total disregard for fellow human beings. Ayn Rand said, "Christianity is a sign of weakness in a capitalist society." Ayn Rand despised Social Security, Medicare, and Unemployment Insurance and wanted these programs abolished. Ayn Rand said, "Social Security and Unemployment Insurance are hammocks that the people relax in, and these programs encourage laziness and a reluctance to work in the people." Ayn Rand was a snooty social elitist. Ayn rand said, "The poor and the working class are parasites feeding on the wealth accumulated by their intellectual superiors." Go to the Ayn Rand - Mike Wallace video interviews. See and hear this Tea Party heroine tell Mike Wallace, "I wouldn't feed the poor if they were starving to death."

In addition to Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, the Tea Party, and several more prominent Republicans, Ayn Rand also inspired Anton Lavey, founder of the Church of Satan and author of the Satanic Bible. Anton Lavey said, "Satanism is just Ayn Rand's philosophy with ceremony and rituals added." Paul Ryan and the Tea Party want to destroy Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance and all other social safety net programs, and the Tea Party's choice of the philosophy of Ayn Rand proves it.

I wasn't aware they allowed computer access in the nut house these days. Here's the thing, you can google liberals and just about anything (satan, Marx, communism, etc.) and come up with "proof" that these statements are "fact".

Sounds to me like there's a freeloader with an axe to grind because some politicians are finally deciding to reform the gravy train.

BHM, That is a typical Tea Party Republican response. deny the facts, shout over people and try to drown out any opposition, lie, deceive, denigrate the opposition, and generally hate the TRUTH.
Why do Republicans hate the TRUTH? The truth makes the GOP & the Tea Party look bad. I think you need another dose of truth.

This spring Bob Barr was selected as the Keynote Speaker at the GAY & LESBIAN Log Cabin Republican Convention in Dallas, Texas. Bob took the podium and promised to work hard to repeal the DOMA. Bob Barr also said that he is now a Libertarian, and he referenced Ayn Rand in his speech. John McCain's daughter also spoke to the convention. Convention speakers said the Gay & Lesbian Log Cabin Republicans filed the law suit in Federal Court to repeal the Military's "Don't ask, Don't tell policy". Relax and finish taking your medicine, the men in the white coats will be along soon. Try this sometime, combine any two random words, type them into google, and hit enter. Chances are you'll find websites that manage to link them together. Having a website does not make something genuine, truth, gospel, or whatever other term you care to use. Just because there may be some 6 degrees of separation link doesn't mean that you're getting the whole story or even the facts, it's more likely that it's someone's spin or interpretation of the facts.

Oh, BTW, the deny, deny, deny, attack, attack, attack approach came straight from the Clinton administration. To accuse the Tea Party of being the first and only ones to use these tactics is disingenuous at best.

Oh, you're one of those "it's not a spending problem, it's a revenue problem"..... Apparently you haven't been paying attention. Search; Grover Norquist - "starve the beast"
Grover hatched a plan back when Ronald Raygun was president to starve the Federal Government of funds to the point that Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance and all other social safety net programs would have to be abandoned.
The UNelected KING of the Republican Party, Grover Norquist says, "I want to starve the beast(Federal Government) down to a size that will fit in my bath tub and then drown it." That is treason and that shows that Grover is an enemy of the State.
Now what does that say about the 235 Republican members of Congress who have sworn allegiance to that creepy little dictator, Grover Norquist? I thought they swore to defend the United States against all enemies, both foreign and DOMESTIC.
I must admit everything is proceeding as planned by the little creep. Old Grover was fine with GW Bush dumping all the money out of the Treasury with his tax rebate checks. Along with millions of other Americans, I recieved a check for $600.00.
Grover was quite happy with Dubya Bush taking us into two wars on borrowed money. Grover was ecstatic about the Dubya Bush Tax Cuts, which were paid for with borroewed money. All of these things advanced Grover's plan to bring the USA to the verge of bankruptcy, or into actual bankruptcy to force the government to abandon Social Security, Medicare, and all other social safety net programs.

Now BHM, suppose you hired someone to manage your finances and the first thing he did was empty your savings account by giving monetary gifts to all of you neighbors. Then he goes to the bank and borrows millions of dollars in your name and gives that money away too. What would you call him? Don't tell me, I know. If he was a Republican like GW Bush, you would call himm a fiscal conservative.

Wow, talk about Conspiracies R Us. Let me guess, You're one of those 911 truthers too? I'd bet you think the CIA killed Kennedy, AIDS is man made, we never landed on the moon, and Elvis is still alive. Your "example is flawed in many ways, but the biggest one is that you neglected to point out that IF WEREN'T FOR THE INCREASED SPENDING, those tax cuts wouldn't have sent us into debt. The tax cuts weren't the problem, it was the drunken sailor spending that did it. Let me give YOU the example.

You and an old friend go out for dinner. While at dinner, you decide the Surf-n-Turf sounds good as well as caviar and other assorted expensive delights. Then you decide to make some new friends and start buying rounds of drinks and bottles of wine for your new "friends". The bill comes and it's $5000, but you only have $100. You stick your old friend with the bill because "he's got the money". After, you r old friend asks you what your problem is and you tell him you have a revenue problem.

Sorry, revenue has NOTHING to do with it, you have a SPENDING PROBLEM. Ditto goes for the government.

Ayn Rand, the Tea Party's heroine had a hero named William Hickman. Hickman's claim to fame was that he kidnapped, raped, murdered, and dismembered a 13 year old girl. Hickman was caught, tried, condemned, and executed for the heinous crime. Ayn Rand loved him. Hickman's rugged individualsism and total lack of respect for the norms of society was wonderful to her. Ayn Rand wanted to make Hickman a character in one of her books. I do believe the Tea Party Republicans chose a warped, twisted sister for their heroine.
But that fits in with the warped, twisted, view of the Tea party

Been reading this exchange and said nothing so far, that is until now. Warren Buffet is a disingenuous blowhard. He talks a big talk about "raising his taxes" but during the debt ceiling debate, who was the first to criticize the idea of eliminating the "corporate jet" deduction? That's right, ol' Warren. Seems that his company owns a manufacturer of corporate jets and eliminating that tax might hurt business. Turns out that ol' Warren happens to have ownership in a few "corporate jets" as well and eliminating that deduction would hurt HIS bottom line as well. Face it, it you're going to hold up Warren Buffet as your "proof" that the Tea Party is evil, you're WAY OFF. If ol' Warren was REALLY serious about paying more taxes, he'd simply change his compensation package to include more income and less capital gains. Then again, that would mean ACTUALLY putting his money where his mouth is and not just being able to bloviate about it....
