<quoted text>I am not trying to debunk religion. I am trying to say that as a human it is my choice if I believe or don't believe and it is not right for someone to tell me any different. Whether someone feels a person's beliefs are wrong does that give them a good reason to say a person is bad and going to hell? No but people do. My point in all of this when it comes to abortion there is never going to be an agreement because there are to many different opinions on why it is right or wrong.
This thread was for or against abortion. Then what happened people start quoting the bible telling others they are wrong cause the bible said so, like this is something we have to follow. The laws I follow are the laws of man. The bible people are talking about is religion. So I ask how does religion have anything to do with abortion? To those that BELIEVE it may be something. To others it is nothing. I will reiterate that these are MY beliefs. I'm not saying to believe the way I do, and I am not putting a religious person down. I'm just saying I don't believe in the same things as they do.

P.S. Just as an after thought I don't believe anyone has the right to tell a person what to do with their body not the gov. not the religious people or anyone else. It should be their choice.
OMFG!!!! Intelligence has been found on topix!!! I'm floored!!! Thanks for posting!!!!

If you are a rape vitim then abortion is reasonable. this doesnt make it ok but that baby is a living memory of a womens worst nightmare. now if you decided to have unprotected sex then seriously grow up and take responsibility for your own actions instead of being a murder. you are murdering innocent children by the way if that has soaked in by now..
The US Supreme Court ruled that until the third trimester it is still a fetus. Technically a parasite. It's never had a thought, never experienced emotion or feelings. Just uncontrolled jerks spasms and instinct. By the logic you are using, every time you kill an insect or consume a piece of meat you are condoning or committing murder. And I'm assuming that you never eat eggs either. That is aborting innocent baby chicks. Your logic sounds ridiculous when fully applied because it is, just in case that hasn't soaked in by now.

You can't take back abortion. No mater how much people want to deny it, it's murder. Many wemen who have had abortions regret it for the rest of their lives. Why not put the child up for adoption?

It's not your business. It's legal and a private matter. My cousin chose to have a child that was conceived from a rape, because no matter how much those nut job Republican men want to say it, women and girls can and do get pregnant from rape and molestation. Her son was born with mild retardation and she will have to provide for him for the rest of her life. She lives with a constant reminder of the physical, mental and emotional pain that she endured. I give her kudos because she's a lot stronger than I will ever be based solely on that. At the time she couldn't abort, and even though there is love shared between the child and her she admits that it's been too much emotionally and mentally most of the time. The fact is abortion is legal and will most likely always be, you do what's best for you and let others do what's best for them. You can't make the choice for them and you should never have the power to. I'm sick of people caring so much about this issue but as soon as a child is born they could care less about it. They complain about mandated healthcare and assistance and would rather a living baby suffer with no healthcare, food or shelter. That baby then grows into an adult, and again many of you want to complain if they don't live just like you do. You don't see your hypocrisy. You wanted the fetus to have a chance at life outside of the mom's body, but as soon as it's out you want nothing to do with it.
Don't worry, I'm not biased. I also believe that every child molester whom we know without doubt is guilty should be fried immediately, also with serial killers and violent murderers. The Menendez brothers, Manson, etc...all should be euthanized. I also believe anyone with a fatal illness should have the choice to end their suffering. The world will never have a shortage of people that's for sure.

If it were legal to kill a 6 month old child because the mother decided 10 she no longer wanted it, would that make it right? Just because something is legal does'nt make it right. The end result is the same. 6 month old dead, 3 month fetus in the womb dead. Are you any more deserving to be alive because your mother chose life over abortion? I can't help but notice that everyone that is for abortion has already been born.(Ronald Reagan)

Why is that legal now? Oh, it isn't? Then it can't be compared now can it? Please stop trying to use twisted logic that doesn't even make sense. Abortion is a legal right.

Dead is dead. I guess everyone isnt as deserving of life as you. This, of course has nothing to do with who you are as a person, but because your mother chose life over death. I guess you justify that as " luck of thr draw'" The woman that won the right for abortion in Roe vs. Wade has tried for years to have that ruling reversed. I can't imagine the guilt she has for the legalized murder of millions of babys since 1973.

I don't think abortion should be used as a form of birth control, but I'm sure it rarely is. No one has the right to tell a child they will give birth to their father or uncle or grandfather's child. That's what would happen if abortion was illegal. You also don't have the right to tell a raped woman she has to have her attacker's child, or someone whose life could be in danger or lost if they have a kid to have to attempt it anyhow. The reason it will never be overturned is because intelligent people understand those things. We aren't willing to go back to alley abortions because we've evolved. I don't like abortion but if it's not my choice I have no right to tell anyone else what they should endure.

you should invest in a fact checker. Abortion was legal before 73.

abortion was available for a variety of medical reasons. Including but not limited to mental instability, rape, marital rape (which was recognized in 1955), depression, and medical conditions affecting the life of the mother. Yes roe v wade was in 1973, but abortion was obtainable before then.

Nice try, you were wrong & now you are trying to save face. The fact remains the same, the woman that started this up with Roe vs Wade has tried for years to have it reversed. Since 1973 many wemen have used abortion as a form of birth control, thats a fact.

Actually they are correct. I'd love to see your links to your unbiased sources for the "fact" that many women use abortion as a form of birth control, because I know you're making that "fact" up.

didnt say it was as easy to obtain just saying that it was possible. And it is not now nor was it ever intended as a form of birth control. I would rather think that 900 dollars a pop would cost prohibitive as a form of birth control. But if you'd like to keep believing what you do, please feel free. That's the nice think about living in a pro choice society, if it's not the right option for you then please.... Feel free NOT to have one. As for me, I'm going to continue to separate church from state, and not force what I believe on the wider population. If the defendants regretted their decision to pursue Roe, it wasn't on the grounds that she'd aborted the baby. It had already been born by the time the case reached the Supreme Court.
