if you "mess" around you need to pay for it, but in the cases of women that have been raped I feel that it should be there choice weather or not to keep the child

I don't think any child is a mistake regardless of the reason the pregnancy happened everyone has a purpose in life and no one on this earth should have the right to hold the power of life and death in a sudden decision!

what if your 12 year old was involved in an accident and was left retarded or deformed would you still love them if you can't love a child because it is handicap then you are the one with the problem not the child

the point is if a child is handicapped for any reason that is no excuse for that child not to be loved or cared for the problem is that we live in a day and time that if something does not benefit us we want nothing to do with it if. What I mean is this it sound like you are telling us that if it takes a little more effort or a little more time and don't benefit us just throw the child away besides it just a choice NO its a life!

I have the right to choose what I do with my own body. Is it a simple solution and decision to make? Absolutely not. I believe in educating our youth about birth control methods, sex, and STDs.

You are right you have the right to choose what happens to ur body but you have no right to choose what happens to another life!!! God is the only one who holds the key to life and death!!! The government has only given u an option but in the end it's still murder and God makes it clear that's a sin!!!

You clearly have your opinion and I have mine. In my opinion, it is not murder because the Courts decided the proven capacity to have a meaningful life is at 22 weeks. There's a huge difference between something that is potentially human to a living, breathing human being (which then is murder). I'm not even going into a debate about substantial neocortical development equating to self-awareness, perception, and memory. Your argument is on religious grounds and I respect that but not everyone shares your beliefs.

Really?!? You think it is right because other people have declared it so? Why do you people always say stupid things like, "it isn't human because it couldn't live without me." Well a newborn baby can't live without you. An autistic person needs help their entire lives. People who have brain injuries do too. Are they NOT people?

You completely missed the point of my argument. Read my post again and try to argue effectively without using generalizations and a fallacy such as "you people" and "stupid". Btw, a newborn and an autistic person is in the category as a living, breathing human being. These are my beliefs and not what "other people have told me". I am pro-choice, but I believe in sex education and contraception. An abortion is not a decision to be taken lightly. Have a wonderful day and if you want to talk further about the subject, then I will gladly give you my email address.

You (people too afraid to write your names) clearly stated above that the reason you thought it was not murder was "because the courts decided..." Be a follower all you want. If abortion is not murder, then why, when a woman at six weeks gestation is stabbed to death, would courts rule it as a double homicide? Face it, it is a baby when wanted, an it when unwanted. A zygote (before a fetus becomes a fetus) is biologically alive. It fulfills the four criteria needed to establish biological life: metabolism, growth, reaction to stimuli, and reproduction. And I am sorry that I don't want to use a bigger word than stupid. Get over it.

My name is Jennifer Little. As for me being a follower, I backed up my beliefs with factual information. Are you referring to the Lori Hacking case? Her body was so decomposed that they could not determine if she was 5-6 weeks pregnant. Please try to come up with a different insult than a follower. Abortions are legal because the fetus is not viable until a certain gestational age. Get over it? Learn how to argue without insulting someone...maybe go to college or at least learn logic. If you want to continue with the follower insinuations, then so are you with your pro-life stance. Get over it, lol, your maturity speaks for itself.

I do not care one way or another if you talk to me on Topix again. I can't stand people who say something and basically say they didn't say it, or try to make it sound smarter than what it actually means.

What did I say that I further denied? I explained why it was LEGALLY not murder. I have many other opinions to my pro-choice stance. I can't stand people who twist people's words around to validate themselves. Have a lovely day. Yeah, I couldn't help but reply to this post. Ciao.

I never twisted your words at all, just repeated back to you what you said. I can't help it if you're getting all frazzled over it.( but back to the debate and not necessarily to Pragmatic)
Also, Whether abortion is wrong or not a set in stone fact. We merely say it is okay because so many people want to kill the innocent unborn. Kind of like smoking cigarettes, so many people want them, outlawing them would be redundant. However, in this case, I don't give a crap about the women who would end up in the allies. Really, if you are desperate enough to have a strange, filthy person rip your growing child out of your body, you deserve the worst.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Virgo

You have a very high opinion of a certain person today, believing that they can do no wrong. But how realistic are you being? It looks as though you're viewing the world through rose-colored glasses, which is fine if it's only a temporary state but quite another matter if you're deliberately ignoring problems and pretending that they don't exist.
