When should abortion be legal?

Seriously, my honest feeling is that it is a horrible horrible practice, but I don't think the law should be involved unless we are looking at viable children, I.e., children that can survive outside the womb. Up to then, we have to look at the LIVING child statistics: 450,000 children in the foster care system + every child that was born to a neglectful or abusive parent and NOT placed in foster care. Sad, but these are our choices.

...a caveat to that: these are also the stats that people crying about paying for birth control ought to be aware of. Unless Rush Limbaugh or Rick Santorum would like these young women to start leaving their unwanted babies on their doorsteps, or if they would like to continue to pay for their care in the foster care system, or pay their Mom's welfare or pay for their emergency medical care...or funerals... maybe they should think twice about paying for a few pills.
If the Church and the Christian Right want to start making this world a better, more moral place to live, then they're going to have to do more than stand at the pulpit pointing their impotent fingers at their congregation and the current administration. These young women aren't getting pregnant by themselves, but they are expected to take the responsibility to prevent pregnancy, and the blame and consequences when they get pregnant allllllll alone. Young people aren't lacking in authority. They are lacking in examples. If you want to stop abortion, then go and teach and lead and be a positive example for young people....and their parents.
Ever been a teenager? Hiw did you feel about authority?

IT IS NOT UP TO ANYBODY ELSE BESIDES THE INDIVIDUAL. PEOPLE DON'T JUST THROW BABIES AWAY. THESE ARE CHOICES THAT LAST A LIFE TIME.

Case by case.

My opinion on abortion is pretty abnormal I suppose. It boggles my mind that this has turned into a choice verses life debate. I'm not pro choice, or pro life. I'm pro abortion.
I think that any women under the age of 30 should have to go through the court system to proven that she's able to support a child and give it a loving home. Otherwise, she should be forced to have an abortion. Painless, she doesn't have to blame herself, the courts made her do it.

moral objections aside--it should be up to the woman. But, the federal government should not be paying for the procedure.
