HYDERABAD: Having lost all the six Telangana and one Andhra Assembly seat in the recent bypolls, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will now have to face yet another challenge, a bigger one this time, in trying to retain one Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly seats, for which byelections will be held on June 12.
By Mohammed Shafeeq, Hyderabad, April 13 : Ahead of the crucial byelections to one Lok Sabha and 18 assembly seats, the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh is in a big dilemma over whether to criticise late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy or praise him.
The writing on the wall has become clearer for the ruling Congress and principal opposition Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh: they are facing a serious survival threat and the demand for a separate Telangana state cannot be wished away.
HYDERABAD: Braving the scorching sun, about 30 percent of 13.82 lakh voters Sunday had cast their vote by noon in seven assembly constituencies of Andhra Pradesh, including six in the Telangana region, an official said.
