Twenty lifeguards, along with a Sheriff's Harbor Patrol boat and a U.S. Coast Guard boat and helicopter, are searching the water along the entire length of the beach for a 34-year-old man who went missing Sunday amid high surf, said Jason Young, chief of OC Lifeguards.

This NOAA satellite image taken Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows a swirl of clouds in the Gulf of Mexico associated with Tropical Storm Isaac as it moves slowly toward the central Gulf Coast.

Isaac reduced to a tropical depression on Friday with maximum sustained winds less than 39 mph.

As monsoonal moisture remains over the area another afternoon of thunderstorms is expected of Los Angeles' mountains and deserts.
