Legion marches in to save Canada Day parade Branch 118 takes over organizing role
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 118 has stepped up to take over organization of the parade, which will go ahead July 1. The new North Vancouver Canada Day parade committee chair and legion member Ernie Hubbard said after reading about the parade being cancelled in the North Shore News, he immediately called on the legion to take over organization.
Canada Day Weekend @ White Point, two family nights from $330, plus tax, June 28-July 1. The festive weekend will include a birthday party, fireworks and beachside bonfires with marshmallow roasts and more.
Canada Day celebrations taking on a youthful focus
The Peterborough Canada Day Parade committee held a press conference at City Hall on Tuesday to announce details of this year's celebration on July 1. The theme for this year's parade is 'Acclaiming Young Canada!' Organizers want to recognize that the youth of today are the future of Canada.

Although it's still very much winter outside, plans are underway for summer festivities in Fort Frances, such as the second-annual Boundary Waters Dragon Boat Festival on July 1 and the "Pulling for Peace" international tug-of-war on July 2. But whether or not Canada Day events here will include a parade remains to be seen.
