Portland Pirates hockey franchise leaving Portland

The Portland Pirates, a minor-league hockey franchise that has made Portland its home since 1993, is reportedly severing ties with the city. Lee Goldberg of News Center broke the news on Wednesday, saying the franchise was planning to relocate to Springfield, Massachusetts.
