Democratic Party of Japan leader Yukio Hatoyama said Saturday he intends to freeze the execution of any budgetary appropriations he considers wasteful, including the government's plan to build a state-run art center for media products dubbed the "hall of anime," if the DPJ takes power after the next House of Representatives election.
