Middle School Football Team Runs Up 34-18 Win

Cole Camp keeps pace

The Bluebirds got three touchdowns and 219 rushing yards from Brandon Thoennes in a 52-7 win over Fayette to improve to 4-0, but wins by South Callaway, Hallsville, Higginsville and St. Paul Lutheran mean there are still five unbeaten teams in Class 2, District 7. There is little room to manoeuvre in the district standings with South Callaway in first with 51.86 points, the Bluebirds and Hallsville tied for second with 51.33, Higginsville in fourth with 50.5 and St. Paul in fifth with 46.33. This week the Bluebirds host Sherwood, a team which won the first two games of the season over Pleasant Hope and Butler, but has lost the last two to Van Horn and Summit Christian by a combined score of 76-12.

S-C jv football comes up short

The Smith-Cotton JV football team advanced to the eight yard line with a half minute to play, but watched a fourth down pass fall incomplete Monday night in a 20-14 loss to Pleasant Hill at Jennie Jaynes Stadium. The game was tied at 14-14 with 1:48 to play when Pleasant Hill took the lead on a Noah Burton 5-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Dalton Bach.

JV Football - STeam Downs Princeton, 22-14

The Trentona SHigh School junior varsity football team traveled to Eddie Allena SField in Princeton for a match-up with the JV Tigers on Monday night. Trenton allowed two big plays, but still managed to return home with a 22-14 victory.
