Cameron Montgomery opened the scoring with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown and also scored on the ground and through the air as Shannon defeated neighborhood rival Nettleton 33-27 in area high school football action Friday. Montgomery also scored on a 90-yard catch and run with a pass from Martavious Fells and later on a 7-yard run.

Vikings cash in on turnovers in Trophy match

Prep football: Blake Fields tosses pair of TDs as George County downs Vancleave 26-9

George County quarterback Blake Fields completed 13 of 22 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns as the Rebels won their third straight game, defeating Vancleave 26-9 here Friday night. "Obviously, we're excited any time we win a football game, and we work very hard to get to that point", George County coach John Douglass said.

Ocean Springs improves to 4-0 with 23-14 victory over Gautier

Ocean Springs scored touchdowns on three consecutive first-half possessions to take command the game en route to a 24-13 win over Gautier Friday night at Greyhound Stadium. The win ran the Greyhounds record to 4-0 heading into a bye week, followed by the Region 4-6A opener at Hancock.
