I have followed the Cat's since 1970 and have always been proud of them. However I don't know where all the blame falls on coach Tomberlin or not?
If he is calling the plays yes. There have been some dumb play calling at crucial times this year, if his offensive coordinator is calling them, then he should shoulder some of the burden. Two of his asst's have not been successful in other schools, with the exception of Coach Schuman and that was baseball at Berrien co, not football. Coach Pollock was never a great fit up in Cook Co. So go figure, I know attendence is down, but no excuse when you play 11 vs. 11 on the field. Please do a better search this time for all the wildcat fans to be proud of. Every coach will want the job, don't hire the first to apply or cheapest. Search for the best available that can bring sucess, as crosstown.
We need to go back to the Hyder philosophy in football.

One more thing I have said all year Chad Prain should be playing quarterback? Just my opinion. March can fly but if he has no blocking you see what happens.

Thank you
Coach Jackson

I coach at the college D II level and would like to know what makes you think you are qualified to criticize play call? If a play is executed it works. The players need to execute. As far as you digging up dirt on assistants, you should volunteer your time for 15 cents per hour some time if you think they need your help so badly. I came across this article while searching for a coaching job to apply for. Rest assured it will not be in your comunity, not worth the headache. Good luck getting Vince, or Bear to solve all your problems. Are you part of the problem or the solution?

Good luck finding the "perfect" candidate, he doesn't exist.

Dont worry Coach Jackson. We dont need anyone from the north that is out of a job already to turn our program around. Explain to us why your job searching? Bad Assistants? Cant call plays? You not Wildcat material... And neither was tomberlin.

DOSTA DAWG

Did you honestly just type "You not Wildcat material?" You know nothing about me or the material I'm made of. As for my search, maybe you've never wanted to advance your career, I do. I have a great job, and would only consider leaving to become a head coach where "open minded individuals" like yourself would accept a successful coach from "the north" You dunn da south proud but the civil war is over.

EFFINGHAM COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL will either get TIM STOWERS or RICK TOMBERLIN as there new head football coach. This will be a win win situation either way.The new coach will be named later this month.

EFFINGHAM COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL needs a coach who is big on conditioning, weight lifting and discipline.RICK TOMBERLIN definitely fits the mold. HE would have some size and talent to work with. Also, with the growth of our county, he would have the numbers to work with.

I am from New Jersey. Was just trying to find out where Coach Stowers was now coaching.
Then, I bumped into this site.
Some of you are quite mean spirited.
High school football correct?
Is the school doing the job in the classroom?
Is the coach teaching the right things off the field as well as on the field?
Demanding coaches with a clue about the perspective of high school education are necessary.
I hope many of you find some other things to do with your time this new year other than harp on the play calling and winning and losing of a football team in a local town.
Isn't there a war in the Middle East and a severe recession in the world?

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
