Tobacco is IN the SAME food group as potato, tomato, cauliflower, green pepper, chili’s, egg plant and other foods. They ALL contain nicotine. Are those the next bans?

Smoking bans were begun and funded by grants from a very large pharmaceutical foundation TO the American Cancer Society who MAKES MONEY from them (middle man). The pharmaceuticals in turn make the big bucks from their no smoke products. Follow who really pays for the years of negative studies too, not who stamps their name on it! It's all one in the same no matter how they pass on their 'grant' money. It IS the great American (world wide) scam to run profits to an industry.

Cancer is a money maker.
The real cause will be hidden as long as they can keep it hidden. Did you know that fabric fibers are found in cancer tumors?

The only cures that will come to the public on an official note are those that are money makers, no matter they really work or not.

The smoking ban is a giant marketing scam.
Follow the money on all TO the source!

It is not about health as witnessed when anti-smoking money dries up. With all of the negativity regarding smoking brought about by the pharmaceutical companies, and the war against the tobacco companies that directly benefit the big pharmas who market their own brand of nicotine, and the knowledge about the benefits of nicotine, why would the big pharmas want control of this? MONEY! The variety of conditions being studied reflects the excitement felt in the scientific community for the potential of nicotine: anxiety, depression, Alzheimer's, Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, Parkinson's disease, diabetes and schizophrenia.
They don't even try to find a cure, that would put them out of business, so they need to wipe out the competition, tobacco. All big pharma wants to do is push drugs, they will make billions!

Yeah, yeah, not.
"The variety of conditions being studied" reflects the tobacco industry's frantic need to have SOMEthing good to say for their product before the addiction ceases to be enough to offset all the bad things known about the products. Plus, the propaganda value of being able to say the studies are happening and spin it to sound as if it is KNOWN that nicotine is good for you...
Anyway, how are you going to stick up for tobacco by demonizing anti-smoking pharmaceuticals if RJR follows through and buys the European version of Nicorette?
Personally, I hope the vaccine works out and the industry loses the addiction death-grip it has had on our society and individuals for so many decades.

Ok Im going to join your fantasy world for a little while and see where it goes.
So lets say the do conquer smoking and lets say now the whole world is smoke free.
What group of people do you think they will target next.?
Will lung cancer be eradicated.? If so will the average life span become 125.? Would their concerns switch to over population.

Do you really think anyone is going to defend big tobacco anymore than they would defend big pharma? Seriously?

Both of these industries have gleefully turned to fascism where corporate and state combine to rule with tyranny.

Fearless leader just recently cut a deal with big pharma to expand his new takeover of the free market by promising big pharma HUGE profits...in exchange for an add campaign that promised to spend more than the Fascistic fool McCain did in his attempt at becoming... fearless leader.

If memory serves me correctly 150 million was the number that was offered in the scam.

*shakes head*

These new fascists have managed to divide us in a way that serves their purpose. They have a bunch of "useful idiots" pointing fingers at each other...as they systematically dismantle our once great republic....and the constitutional protections that came with it.

Divide and conquer is a tactic that is quite familiar to those who know history. What we are witnessing today is the fact that most people are historically ignorant....and the result is history repeating itself once again.

Oh yes of course...if big pharma comes up with a shot to "fix" narcissism...please be the first in line to try their new poison.

What a frightening bunch of Fascists....indeed.

First they came for the smokers....

Odd buzzing noise in here. I seem to hear something about comparing a product unabashedly sold to do nothing BUT addict customers and build/maintain the bottom line to companies--even if you reject it as anything more than appearance--ostensibly trying to find ways to reduce human suffering.

Hmmm...I wonder if there is addiction-driven loss of any sense of proportion involved in the source of that noise?

Oh, well. History knows it's unkind.

Yea yea yea...we are all slaves and are too stupid to know our own good. We need your kind and big brother to guide us.

We need laws forced upon us to free us...as the removal of choice is the expansion of freedom.

*sigh*

How Orwellian.

You have clearly indicated your desire to ban booze as well as tobacco.

Tell us...what is your opinion of the RWJF?

They are the ones that provided a huge amount of funding to push your tobacco agenda...correct?

Looks like once again...they are providing funding while hiding behind fronts...eh?

http://alcoholfacts.org/RWJfoundation.html

These are your heroes...are they not?

Perhaps you could find a job with them that would pay well enough to move out of your apartment and into a place of your own?

Looks like they need a few people like you...eh?

Talk about a win win!

Once again...how well does this rhetoric work on the non-smokers who oppose your beloved Nanny state and all it stands for?

We already know that Discusseded's kind is all over those who are overweight.

This nut has also clearly indicated a desire to ban booze as well.

Perhaps you can get this anti to provide a list of his personal top 10 lifestyle choices that need Big Brothers to make decisions for them?

One two and three are already accounted for...but the remaining seven would be a hoot to see...and he runs every time I ask.

Perhaps you would have better luck?

Nicotine Vaccine is nothing but a way to block the pleasure receptors in the brain. This type of NTR's are already the most dangerous of all the NTR's, causing thousands of Hospital admissions and attempted and successful suicides. A Vaccine will only add to the dangers with the aluminum, mercury and other poisons they contain without any benefit.

A recent report on CBS' "60 Minutes" revealed that, "Congressmen are outnumbered 2 to 1 by lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry that spends roughly $100 million a year in campaign contributions and lobbying expenses to protect its profits "¦ In fact, there have been over 1,500 bills placed in front of the House of Representatives over the last eight years dealing with pharmaceutical issues -- and the drug companies, almost without exception, have gotten what they wanted." Pharmaceutical executives are also allowed to sit on CDC advisory boards where vaccine recommendations are determined. Graft and greed are alive and well.
