This is odd:

"Poverty also played a role in the stagnation of the numbers of quitters, McKenna says. The percentage of smokers living below the poverty level rose from 28.4 % to 31.5% from 2007 to 2008."

How did the percentage of Americans living below the poverty level fare during that interval? Did the percentage of Americans above the poverty level change as well, and which direction?

Maybe I should have read the whole thing, but it's WAY late.

When education was being used to promote quitting, the rate was successfully falling for many years. Now that legislating is using invasive bans, many people are getting disgusted by the many deceitful methods. In the 60s, protesters burned draft cards. Now they will simply light cigarettes.

Daily Horoscope for December 14

Virgo

It's a great day for doing some Christmas shopping. You've got the stamina to fight your way round the shops and the interest to see what's on offer when you get there. However, you'll be very tempted to buy whatever you see first and only look at the price tag later, which could turn out to be a very expensive tactic.
