Yes, in the ideal world everybody would all their needs met. I the REAL world, ideas like yours cost money. When you want to talk reality, fine. As long as you continue to write about sujects AFTER a bong hit, well...you get the drift.

We need reform!

Not Govt run Health.

When has the govt ever run anything correctly? When has it ever run anything profitably?

Well, "America," Some AMERICANS don't have health care and need it. I would be one of those who has lost her health insurance through no fault of my own. With my medical history no one will insure me and I doubt that the package being put forth will be any help to me. My income is *just* high enough that there will be very little break for me. I'll just have to take the 2.5% tax hit.

Your comments about "bong hits" were unfortunate. Do you really think you can make your best arguments by getting insulting? It diminishes you, not the person you were targeting.

Every first world country except ours has health care for all people. Isn't it a shame that America is soooo incompetent when compareed to all those other countries.

So you think that because other socialist nations have something that you should force your idea upon the rest of America? Why don't you leave here and go to a city where you can find a job that offers a group health plan? Why are you staying in a dump of a town with little opportunity and blaming other more responsible citizens for YOUR poor choices which have led to not having health care? Also, you just commented on my "insult" and then proceeded to call your entire country "incompetent". And again, you compared our great nation to less prosperous nation. How dare you? Aren't you ashamed of your own greedy and incompetent nature? You know, sometimes it isn't about you? Sometimes it's about what the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS want. And yes we need reform, but a takeover by the filth in the WH is not the answer.

So now we know you're poorly educated, because they aren't all socialist nations. Bravo. You just discounted everything you said.

This is your response? Much of the world is now socialist. I'm not against some reasonable social programs like roads, etc. But the govt cannot run health care efficiently. Did you know that in England and Canada, most there must still retain private insurance to offset the lack of good care provided by the state? Where do you think they go when they need the best health care? America. Why? Because we have not allowed are govt to take it over yet. Now, we have a fraud who claimed that he was not the same as all the extremists he has surrounded himself with trying to pass himself off as a "concerned" American. Nonsense. I'm sorry about your medical problems. I don't think insurance companies should be allowed to exempt you for a pre-existing condition. But the Dems and the Repubs could have changed that provision long ago. They did not and the result now is a completely overblown, overreaching response to our health care problems. Wake up. It isn't always about what you need. Sometimes it's about what is good for the people as a whole. Govt run health is not in our nation's best interest.

It is sad that our representatives cannot work together to solve these health care issues in a positive manner rather than what is happening in Washington now.

I am a bc survivor and I totally understand your emotional response and the problems you face, Gail. But I also understand America's response.

I firmly believe that the reform bills coming out of Washington are not going to solve this country's problems. Other social programs in this country are either broke or nearly broke. Adding another program of this nature will no doubt overwhelm the system in short order, particularly since the real issues which have driven up the costs of health care are not being addressed. They are not being addressed or are voted down because of special interests have way too much power over politicians who are supposed to be representing their constituents' interests but are not.

Living in an Ivory Tower are we? I have lived all over the world dear. America has had just about enough of Obama's apologies. I know enough about other countries to know one thing: America comes first. If you are a citizen of Russian, I would think that Russian comes first. Quit bashing your country by comparing our great nation to lesser nations. We worked hard to be where we are. We are not perfect. But we are the BEST model right now. You want a life like they have in the EU. Then go live there.

BC, where did I say I don't "understand" the other side? Please quote it because I never said it and it isn't true.

I don't AGREE with the other side, but I do understand it.

We're going to have a rally in my area tomorrow and I'm going to go do a survey of the outraged against this plan, and see -- how many of them do not have health insurance?

I think that will be an interesting number.
