Johnston, the Buckeyes' sophomore Aussie punter who was compared to a golfer using a pitching wedge earlier this season , has at times made it look easy, deftly placing the ball wherever he likes and putting Ohio State's opponents in a hole in the process. He's downed 22 of his 39 punts inside the 20-yard line this season, more than half of those inside the 10. When the Buckeyes play Alabama on Jan. 1 in a College Football Playoff semifinal at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Johnston could prove a valuable weapon in the ever-important battle for field position.
