Blackstone house cleaned but still 'gruesome'

The house at 23 St. Paul St. has been cleaned, but it is still "pretty gruesome," according to town officials who walked through it Tuesday morning. Board of Health Chairman William Walsh, Town Administrator Daniel Keyes and Fire Chief Michael Sweeney visually inspected the house where four children - two of whom were allegedly kept secret - were found Aug. 28 living among rodents, trash, feces, rotting animal carcasses and maggots.

AAA: Gas Prices in Massachusetts Dowm, But 4 Cents Higher Than National Average

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down two cents from last week, according to AAA Southern New England, which has an office in Framingham, off Route 9. AAA's Sept. 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.43 per gallon, down two cents from last week.

DeSouza Leads Framingham State Women's Soccer Past Southern Maine

Senior Isabela DeSouza, a Framingham high product, buried a long strike from 25 yards out into the back of the net to give the Rams a quick one goal lead. The Rams added onto their lead in the 14th minute when again, DeSouza found the back of the net after a long cross by freshman Molly Kelley.

The Rams opened the day defeating the Nighthawks by scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-21. The Rams were led by 14 kills on 22 attempts from sophomore Alycia Rackliffe while classmate Julia Wan added 13 kills and 11 digs.

MutualOne Foundation Awards $7,500 to Jewish Family Service

Robert P. Lamprey, chairman of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, announced the Foundation has awarded $7,500 to Jewish Family Service of Metrowest to support the continuation of a Patient Navigator pilot program focusing on health and wellness for seniors in Framingham, Natick, and adjoining communities. The Patient Navigator program provides trained volunteers to accompany local seniors in need of assistance to doctors' appointments and medical procedures, providing a written summary of each appointment for the benefit of the patient and his or her family's caregiver.

Blackstone mother held without bail in deaths of three infants

A day after investigators found the remains of three infants in the home where she lived, Erika Murray was arraigned on several charges, including witness intimidation and fetal death concealment out of wedlock, and ordered held without bail. Ms. Murray, of 23 St. Paul St., is charged with fetal death concealment out of wedlock, witness intimidation, animal cruelty, two counts of permitting substantial injury to a child, misleading a police officer and two counts of violating a restraining order.
