Love, tolerence, hands off personal lives----What a forward thinking country. It will be a long time coming in the backward, hateful US.

Amazing that it wasn't that long ago that we were boycotting South Africa and putting political pressure on that nation because of apartheid. And here they are, now surpassing the US in terms of equality.

I'm not quite sure exactly how I feel about this development. I'll have to ponder it a bit more. A part of me is very worried.

For, one, I'm worried about the unforeseen consequences. The tribes in Africa are discussing this very thing. Currently, land grants are being given to families and those in dire need. This is essential to the survival of the people of that tribe. Children are essential to their survivial. How exactly do gay people fit into this equation? I'm not sure and neither are they. Perhaps you are more learned then me or the tribesman. Please enlighten me.

It's a trend virtually everywhere in the West outside the US. Countries call it different names, but so many of them have recognized status for gay relationships: Canada, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, all of Scandinavia, among many others .... yet again the US is the outlier, and it is 100% because of the role of religion in the US.

This is basically saying that allowing gay marriage will encourage people not to have children because it will force people who would otherwise opt for gay marriage into straight relationships that produce children. That's basically the idea?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEP

Well, I might've said 94%.

I'm daily amazed that anyone *listens* to those people. I mean, why not just reintroduce slavery? There's little difference, on the meta-level and in terms of applied examples.
