A 12-year-old Yemeni girl, who was forced into marriage, died during a painful childbirth that also killed her baby, a children's rights group said Monday.

Yes, this is very antiquated behavior.
How hungry would I have to be before I would pawn off one of my daughters? I hope I will never have to find out. I think I would probably steal before it got to that point.

Thats horrible.No child should be forced into marriage and than to have a baby.Thats just real sick.

Well, I'm not saying it is OK, but it is still common practice in those countries to marry off daughters for a dowry. Unfortunately, not too many parents respect the wishes of the girl/

I agree Josh.Somebody really needs to put a stop to it though.Every child should experience what its like to be a child.I have a daughter and things like that just really bother me.

My husband is Yemeni. He can't stand these kind of people back in his country who do this to little girls. Most of the women in his family were married at 17-18 not 12. Its so sad.
