Is Port Villa a safe detination to holiday !

With recent stories of murder and rape in Port villa is it a safe holiday destination for both backpackers and travellers?

yes port villa is vey safe i dont know where you here stories like that about rape and murder ,in port villa ,[maybe in your dreams ] but let me assure you vanuatu ,port villa and the outter islands are so safe ,you can walk the streets alone at night wheather you are male or female ,in fact vanautu would be in my opion one of the safest places in the world ,,,go there have fun ..

Not that it can't happen, but the probability of being raped and murdered is far more likely to happen in Brisbane than port vila.

Hi guys dont worry you not wrong there, there is lots of crime in Brisbane, mostly by the Kiwis who come and live here for the prospects of a better life!

Hosa the natives there are a bit dodgy after dark, they drink that local brew untill there eyes roll back and they dont recognise anyone, also there are a lot of expats that live there that are a bit dodgy, running away from the police and taxman etc, alot of them have bribed the locals and set up dodgy businesses, i would rather go to the Barrier reef if i was you!

Bull shit port villa is a great little spot, clean water and beaches, good fishing and diving, snorkeling, try a local steak, and for a bit of fun try the local brew, make sure you dont have Jennifer Hawkins with you for the nite if you do!

Guys, bottom line is Villa is a decent place. What spoils it a bit are all the overweight, loud tourists who march up and down the main street buying fake Billabong shirts.

Go and enjoy the culture, leave your ego at the airport and have fun in a respectful way...the locals were not voted THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET for nothing!
