Archbishop Nicolas Cotugno wrote:
The adoption of children by homosexual couples is not a question of religion, philosophy or sociology. It has to do with respect for human nature itself. To accept the adoption of children by homosexual couples is to go against human nature itself, and consequently, it is to go against the fundamental rights of the human being as a person.
Once again, the Roman Catholic Church makes it clear that the welfare of human beings--children in particular--is of little concern to their leadership.

OK, I was confused for a few seconds because the forum says that the last post was written a little over twenty minutes ago but the last post,#13, says 7 hours. It took me a second, but then I realized that almost a third of the posts have been removed as inappropriate. Obviously the fundies are out in force tonight as many of the posts were deemed noxious enough to delete.

I lived in Florida during the Anita Bryant years ('77 & '78). Her campaign to ban same-sex adoptions made me so ashamed of that state that I couldn't wait to leave. I say, "Good for Uruguay for showing what true enlightenment and compassion are all about"!
