AND you might read nicholas HARMAN " DUNKIRK , THE NECESSARY MYTH " . This book will destroy any belief you have of the "brave" british army making a stand . What they did was the BUGOUT BOOGIE in double time . And this was not the first time the tried this . In 1914 they were on their way to the coast when the frogs convinced the cowardly limeys to stand and fight like MEN . This was something the limeys found difficult to comprehend , fight like a MAN was totally againist their nature unless they were fighting half nake savages armed with spears . A modern army with modern weapons was something they DID NOT want to face .

the B.E.F moved into belgium while the germans
forced an attack on the french line.
forcing the french back,if the B.E.F never
retreated from mons they would have been cut off
(you insult the memory of thousands of men).
in 1940 the french army on the east flank
of the B.E.F broke under immense pressure
from the more experinced german army.
thus forcing the B.E.F into a retreat to dunkirk.
a pocket held by THE B.E.F with a few french troops.and we have not even mentioned the belgiums.i'd take a bet your not even canadian
