I bet she was hauled over the coals by the caring managers and given private shit over it; that's those same managers who now blame a practical joke for the fact that one of their already vulnerable and unbalanced staff members has killed herself.
I wonder why they didn't care about her vulnerability before this funny hoax call was made? Probably too busy paper pushing.
Finally, somebody can see the self evident.

The point is that it was unethical to broadcast without warning the victims. That is not the correct procedure either in the UK or Australia. The guidance is there because such pranks are psychologically harmful to anyone who is vulnerable and when you are calling a stranger out of the blue you can't assess someone's mental health.
You can argue the opposite case with as many tasteless jokes and nasty barbs as you like. But what happened was morally wrong.
"Psychologically harmful"?

The slum bred trash of Britain just can't help making global fools of them self killing themselves and whining over nothing. How sad that all they're good for is government handouts. But I guess that's why they stayed in the British Isles in the first place. Peasants back then and peasants now.

Hmm.
Before political correctness.
Before blaming everybody except the loser who killed themselves over nothing.

So why is it most of your people are still paying rent to the aborigines? They get benefits just for being Aborigines.
Or is it reparations rather than rent since you scum imposed a nazi style program of ethnic cleansing where you tried to steal all their children?
Oh bullshit.
The loony left in the 60s fabricated those atrocity tales you socialist freaks lap up with such relish.
Keith Windschuttle even had the socialist filth admitting that they make up stories because they say the socialist historians task is not to tell the truth but to eliminate class and racial boundaries.
The aborigines get some extra help from the government. Kind of like slum dwelling Englishmen.

Strange when you think of how well known appartheid South Africa or Nazi Germany are.
And should point out to non Aussies reading this that the "stolen generation" is a complete myth.

But you we're replying to me, & the point I was making is that nobody in this country has ever committed suicide over a bloody prank phone call!

THis has been going on here for decades & I very much doubt all the prank calls that have been made on the Aus stereo network have been done with the callees permission! THis used to happen 2 or 3 times a day on triple M & with Doug Mulray etc!

You have to understand I have travelled through the UK & seen what it's like! It's your laws, your social ettiqutte standards, how seriously you take the Royal family & all the PC insanity! I remember walking through Edinburgh & seeing billboard posters of a man who had been arrested for swearing at a telephone operator, WTF!?!?! tHis guy has lost his temper on the phone, was tracked down, arrested, had his mugshot taken & had it put up on billboards all over town as a warning not to swear on the phone????

ARE YOU PEOPLE FACKING SERIOUS??? HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY TAKE SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO FACKING SERIOUSLY??

You NEVER see things like that here, people just wouldn't be able to comprehend it! I also recall an incident that occured when I was travelling on a public bus in E'burgh as well. The driver has pulled away from the curb & a pedestrian has thrown a coin at the door of the bus to get him to stop! He stopped alright, got on the two way & called the cops. The cops sent 3 vehicles in response TO SOMEBODY THROWING A COIN AT A BUS?!?!?! I just sat there with a dropped jaw utterly speechless!

If that happened here they would just flick you the bird & drive off! I felt like I had crossed into a parallel universe when I visited Britain!

MY POINT IS:- THE UK IS A BLOODY POLICE STATE! I think this lady may have done what she did because she knew she was going to get into a sh!t load of trouble for it. The radio station probably didn't understand that because a person wouldn't be treated anywhere near as severely if that scenario occured here!

Some good insights from someone outside looking in. The djs probably wouldn't have been aware of the rife problems of bullying and harassment in the NHS reported by the Healthcare Commission as well as the blame culture unique to the institution. I'd wager her peers would have been calling her a plonker or simply laughing at her.
I really hope that the hospital procedures, management and her peers are thoroughly investigated as the prank call was the catalyst not the cause.

I understand where your coming from, but there will always be that argument made ''its a country built on migration'' etc you know?
The prank phonecall was utter stupidity. No point in defending it. Australia needs to take this on the chin and stop blaming others.
All I said was the Aborigines are the native people. Which is true. No need to go off on a rant about it.
Its a bit rich some Australians being so uppity about immigration, particularly British and Irish immigration.
Nop, you couldn't answer the questions I put to you back in post 99 could you!

"All I said was the Aborigines are the native people"

Mate, that's not all you said back in post 83 & you know it! Before you (or any other Brit or yank nit wit) wants to harp on about Aborigines go back & answer the points I made back in post 99!

You people are a joke & you know it!

We may come from similar blood lines but as I said in post 167 culturally we're now quite different! The result of this prank call illustrates that point perfectly!

I just don't think British/Irish migrants would integrate that well here anymore! Like I said above you come from countries with very strict rules & protocols! To add to what I wrote above I saw footage where British police have jumped into a public pool & hauled a man out into a waiting divi van!
The mans crime? He yelled at a kid in the pool! That's it!

Mate, I don't want my country to become like that!

I know I don't speak for all Aussies but I would rather see more Chinese immigration if we need any immigration at all! THey work hard & I like their women!

I think the whole exchange work visa program should be scrapped, as I said Brits account for the greatest number of illegal immigrants in this country, Again as I said Irish gypsies are causing head aches for cops doing shoddy work & taking advantage of little old ladies!

I live in a boarding house with a Romanian woman, 2 Italian gents, & an Indian, I'm not allowed to come & work in an EU country, why should they be permitted to come here?

End of the day we don't owe any of you people a bloody thing!

the fact that they were put through so quickly indicates that the royals had phoned switchboard before.
When I was in the hospital for a week I didn't even know I had a phone in the room till the day I left. I used my cell phone the whole time. Not a lot of ppl call the hospitals (some don't even tell you the persons status) & the news didn't show the whole voice clip either, they might have been waiting for ten minutes on the phone, but they're not going to show you that.(plus theres a thing called caller id) if the queen called before they would have had her number) Also by watching the news they said that William was with Kate for about 6 hours (as this was going on), the queen knows that he was there with her, so she would have than called his phone :]
