15% they're saying on the BBC at the moment.
Another unwanted folly. No one knew what they were voting for according to the vote officials I spoke to at thje polling station.

yes, where I live not a single candidate even put a notice through my letterbox. I had no idea what they stood for. In the end I found out which one was not anti-gun and voted for him. At least I didn't have the choice of voting for Prescott. For all I know they are all raving nutters.

I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire... i had one leaflet promoting a local Tory and no others. I wouldn't have bothered voting as it's just another layer of bureaucracy for the tax payer to fund. But i didn't want Prescott getting the job so i tactically voted for an Independent first and second choice instead!

I went for an independent too as my first vote, but didn't bother with a second vote. My missus and daughter went for both independents.

No details of about anyone to vote for, no details through the door except the polling papers, maybe there wasn't anyone to vote for - how do I know - I couldn't call it informed choice so I didn't vote

This is when democracy fails. People don't know what they vote for or don't use their rights. Really, there wasn't much information going around.
Just wondering how it work in some countries (US? Switzerland?), where not only police chiefs, but judges and prosecutors are elected. Is their public apathic too?

What were the results in your ward/area? Did the independents win? Prescott lost on second preference votes to a Tory - who incidentally, was the only person to letterbox his manifesto. Pity it wasn't an independent, but at least Prescott didn't get his nose in the taxpayers trough again! Voter apathy was the main winner of the day it appears.

How the hell Labour politicians can keep a straight face when it comes to that jubba Prescott, how can anyone take a baboon like that seriously anyway. Didn't get one leaflet through my letterbox so didn't bother, unfortunately most are out of touch muppets anyway, wish we could go back thirty years onwards where the police looked like police and done police work...

I am surprised that Lord Archer didn't stand, or Jonathan Aitken. and speaking of these eminent worthies, where is our Ronan? I am sure he is a big supporter of Sir James Savile, OBE, NONCE, and papal knight.

I didn't vote.
I had to go out of my way to find out about the candidates online, and when I did, not one looked like anything but a slimy career politician.
If I thought just one of them was in it out of conviction, and actually wanted to make a positive difference, I'd have voted for him, but I didn't, so I didn't.

To be credible to the public, I think the candidates to these PCC jobs should have a background in some form of law enforcement, I think. Police officers, lawyers, judge, prison officers, etc... Otherwise, it's going to be another post likely to be filled by inept politicians.

The PCC position is just another government 'jobs for the boys' initiative.
