My opinion: USSR finished. Ukrainian language to survive need to become more simply.

Ukraine need to switch to latin alphabet, to can have more communication with civilization world, and to can more easy learn the Ukrainian language.

So, i vote YES.

I think Ukraine should hold fast the Ukrainian language and never let it go period. Ukraine has been occupied and manipulated by so many outside forces and still people hold their ancient culture and heritage dearly. As the current president tries to Russify the whole country the Ukrainian people's will resist and one day repair the damages done.

What an idiot. The Cyrillic alphabet is not Russian. It comes from Kievan Rus. Everyone else adopted it from Ukraine.

Perhaps european2012 should adopt liberalism and stop trying to force everyone else to conform to his culture? A typical EU fascist.

The Latin alphabet originated in Rome and the Cyrillic alphabet in Kievan Rus. What a couple of bone-heads.

Byzantium AKA the Eastern Roman Empire used the Greek language and alphabet.

Cyrrilic Greek and Latin alphabet are same. All of them come from Phoenicia

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenicia#Alphabet

From them, the Latin became global.

The Phoenicians were a semitic people. It is Hebrew and Arabic which arose from them.

Who cares? The Cyrillic alphabet was created specifically for the slavic languages. It was never intended to replace Greek.

Unlike in the west where Rome acted much like european2012 and in typical fascist fashion forced everyone to conform to their Latin language and alphabet. It seems the Eastern Roman Empire was more liberal in such matters.

You want Ukraine to be out of EU, and you want Ukraine to be under Putin, for this reason you are against.

All slavic-phones countries(except Putin's Russia and his alliance) use the latin alphabet:

All east europe, and all ex-yugoslavia countries.

Even ex ussr countries go to latin alphabet:

Kazakhstan, Moldova, Baltics, other central asia.

Even in Russia start to use! Before few days the Tatarstan got to latin alphabet.

No. I want Kyiv to steer clear of the EU and NATO. Ukraine should be a liberal democracy and under no one's heel. The Ukrainian rada should answer to the voters in Ukraine and to no foreign imperial overlords.

Empire is such an 18th century concept.

Complete BS!
Statement (1) is false: At least Bulgaria and Serbia use cyrillic alphabet.
Statement (2) is false: See my comment above.
Statement (3a) is false and misleading: Baltic states used Latin alphabets for ages since they bacame literate, Kazakh language uses cyrillic alphabet, Moldova is peraps the only one relatively valid example.
Statement (3a): this argument makes all other your arguments pointless, sorry.
