The Turkish Army has no more reason to be in Cyprus. Turkish Boots need not tread on Cyprus Soil anymore.

40,000 Turkish Troops serving to Protect the Turkish-Cypriot Minority there is no longer necessary or desirable.

The Turkish Administration should take bold steps to remove the Turkish Army from European Union Soil. That Option if undertaken would release many benefits for Turkey, and for Cyprus also.

Is the Turkish Army really protecting Turkish Cypriots ?

Do Turkish Cypriots really need Protecting!

The Islands demography is being incrementally altered on both sides of the divide - Cypriots have seen the harm of it, the long lasting damage it may cause years into the future.

If the Turkish Army leaves Cyprus tomorrow - what do the Turkish Cypriots fear will happen to them ?

There is too much cultural difference and Greeks are violently intolerant towards Turks. It's better to stay divided.

Turkey is not only protecting Turkish Cypriots but also Greek Cypriots.
Think about it, 1963 til 1974 without Turkey there were many killings and it looked to get really worse in 1974 then Turkey stepped in and bought law and order back to the island, ""not peace"".

Don't you believe it has anything to do with fearing Greeks or anyone
no my friend in a conflict situation there is no fear you have a job to do and you get on with it. this applies to every one.
How ever without a peaceful solution the fear of another needless conflict is very real and can't be ruled out, so Turkey as a credible deterrent power remains vital for all of our security.

80% of the Islands resources were stolen,
1/3 of the Countries Greeks were uprooted and 1600 remain missing

All EOKA and Greek's taste for Turkish blood caused that. Still today, that anti-Turkish sentiment of Greeks exist. We try to be peaceful but Greeks dont let us. It's not just cyprus. It's all of Turkey the Greeks have a problem with.

Greco-Turkish rapproachement is slower than what it should be, but it is happening...in stages.

In the end, the onus is on Turkey to make that bold decision - to leave Cyprus in step with a pending resolution there.

Turkey has overstayed it's main objective...it's time now to fix the Cyprus problem in order that Greco-Turkish rapproachement moves on to benefit both peoples and the wider region.

There is no power-play here...just vision.
