Hi,

I'm writing a novel set in Tajikistan, and I wondered if anyone could help me. In a similar way to the words 'jan' and 'jo' are sometimes used to show affection to the Afghan people, are there any similar terms used in Tajik language?

Thank you!

Hello my husband is in Tajikistan. He left for an excercise on 07.14.09 and will be back in a month. This is his second trip there. I will ask him if there is a certain term to mean "affection" and maybe since he is there he can research this for you. I believe the dialect is primarly Russian however a few do speak Tajiki a variety of Persian. If I can get a more affirmative answer I will pass this along. Hopefully this will help

Hi! The dialect is primarily Tajik not Russian. But while talking street language we use some words which arrives from Russian.

Amazing. Married to a Tajik, and this is her idea of Tajik national culture.
