sakkilli modaya, why on earth one has to learn the primitive and backward dialect chingalam. what's there in chingalam to enlighten any one. it's a zero dialect. it's a waste of time.

The better type of Jaffna Tamil spoke singhalese. The lower classes, who constitute the bulk of tamils overseas and the near totality of the tamils on this forum, only spoke Tamil and a tiny group spoke Tamil-English gibberish.
Nowadays most tamils living in Jaffna do speak singhalese in addition to tamil-English gibberish. That's an improvement.

thank you for this valuable information. after all what i heard is proved correct tonight. what i heard was the upper class and western educated tamils who lived in posh parts of colombo and in the provinces had sinhalese servants and hence they had to learn sinhala in order to communicate with them. on the other hand there wasn't any necessity for the ordinary tamils to learn sinhala.

tamils as a whole must learn to use the bathrooms. in a rare case they will have to learn how to operate a bidet.

Where you clean, put up posters. That'll ease your day-job and save some rants.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Taurus

You seem to be operating at a slower pace than normal today, which is frustrating. Maybe you're feeling tired and listless, or you've hit a series of snags. You might also feel overwhelmed by duties and obligations, particularly if they're connected with your job or with neighborhood activities. Perhaps you need to delegate?
