Yes.....
Dalada Malihai was built by the last tamil king of Sri Lanka.

The lion flag of Sri Lanka was not a singhala flag, in fact this flag was last tamil king of Sri Lanka and was adapted by singhala.

Thank you for using our flag.

The Birth of National Flag
The necessity of a National Flag was discussed even before Sri Lanka gained independence on February 4th, 1948. Mr. A. Sinnalebbe, MP for Batticaloa tabled a motion in the State Council on January 16th, 1948 suggesting that the Lion Flag of King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe which was taken to Britain in 1815 should be made the National Flag. This was debated and later Prime Minister Rt. Hon. D.S. Senanayake named an Advisory Committee for the formulation of a National Flag. The Members of the Committee were Mr. S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike (Chairmen), Sir John Kotalawela, Mr. J.R. Jayewardene, Mr. T.B. Jayah, Dr. L.A. Rajapakse, Mr. G.G. Ponnambalam and Senator S. Nadesan, and Dr. Senarath Paranavithana (Secretary).

The original last tamil king of Sri Lanka's flag.

Although a Committee for the formulation of a national flag was appointed no finality had been reached when the first Independence Day was celebrated on February 4th, 1948. However the Lion Flag fluttered on that day. The Lion Flag and the British Union Jack fluttered on the occasion of the opening of the first Parliament of independent Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) on February 11th, 1948. Prime Minister D.S. Senanayake unfurled the Lion Flag at the Octagon (Pattirippuwa) during the Independence celebrations held in Kandy on February 12th, 1948. The National Flag recommended by the special committee was presented to Parliament by Mr. D.S. Senanayake on March 2nd, 1951 and adopted. It had two strips, one green and the other yellow. Each of these strips had to be equal to one seventh the size of the flag. When Sri Lanka was first made a Republic in 1972 the stylized Bo Leaves depicted in the National Flag were changed to resemble natural Bo leaves. The amended flag was first unfurled at the Republic Day celebrations held on May 22nd, 1972. The National Flag is incorporated in Section 6 Second Schedule of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka of September 09th, 1978.Except for the new Bo leaves the present flag is the same flag recommended by the National Flag Formulation Committee on March 2nd, 1951

Punc...real truth is this.

There was sinhalese king named weera parakrama married a tamil woman. Due to this reason next three kings were half tamils. Demallu did not build Dalada maligawa. Yes...It is true that last king of sri lanka was half tamil.

Now Angelo Mathews is the captain of sri lanka. Now they say demallu built cricket in Sri Lanka.

why cant they be honest like everybody else?

Stupid idiot.Prior to the 9TH century there were no Sinhalese pople or Sinhalese kings. None of these kings ever called themselves Sinhalese or Aryans as they were neither. All these kings(90%) went to the Pandian country and married Tamil princess. Some took Kalinga (10%) wives. The orginal king himself was more Tamil by blood all the restof the kinghad Tamil mothers. SO they were Tamils.
The Dalada Maligawa was butl during the Madurai Naicker Tamil reign. The original Esala Pereheara was apurely Hindu festival.

We can talk all about this until the cows come home.

What we need to get going is to keep the North and east separate provinces as it has always been in contemporary Sri Lanka. This is the will of local population and east has to be part sinhala and part muslim.

The whole LTTE attempt merger of the above two provinces got unravel because of 400 odd muslim youths got trained by the SL army to protect their community from LTTE aggression.

Trincomalee was, is and will be a sinhala dominated town

Now minimise the risk violence by blood sucking tamil animals with military intelligence, surveillance.

All legitimate kings of Sri Lanka were Sinhalese Buddhists. Even Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe was coronated as a Sinhalese Buddhist. A few Tamil invaders fancied themselves kings of Sri Lanka at various points in history; but they were all without fail routed by the Sinhalese to restore the legitimate royal lines.

Sri wickirama rajasingha was never coronated as sinhalese budhist, infact he was a proper tamil hindu.

That's why Kannasamy was coronated as Sri Wickrama Rajasinha, a proper Tamil Hindu name as we all know, instead of something like Ponnalingam Analhukayam.

Sri Wikrama rajasinghe can speak good sinhalese. No body denies his mother was a tamil.

I dont know he was a buddhist or not but he was definetely not trying to do anything that would piss the people. If the man was born and raised in Sri Lanka and not a separatist, he can become a king.

As Sri Lankan cricket captain is a tamil. Angelo Mathews speak good sinhalese. Definetely not a separatist.
