Most religious teachings cannot stand to reason or rational thinking. Some believe Budhism is a practical philosophy. But Budhdha advised his followers to give up all desires ( Thanha) and aim to reach nibbana.

The question is can man give up his desires: How realistic for a human to live without desires. Is it possible.

He further advises to reach Nibbana and never be born. Following his advice if everyone goes to Nibbana who will be in the world. The universe will be sans- human, an empty place.

Hence how realistic are the Budha's teaching.

ROFL buddha had no idea what blood thirsty psychopaths would claim to be his followers.

I expect his corpse will come back to reclaim his tooth.

What is realistic is to believe there is a god in the sky (balls and all) who made man in his image ( balls and all)

He asked us to give up all worldly desires, he never said it was easy.

It is possible - but man is constrained by society's eagerness to achieve and want more.

I think i am capable of purging myself of desires and ill thought.

But i don't have the time.

Do you mean it is a dangerous thing to analyse Budha's teaching. Why do you think so.

The fact is you know nothing more than the terror outfit and its leader.

Are you a Sinhalese pretending to be a Muslim like the Tamil man Ilyas prentending to be a Muslim so he can redicule and insult all Muslims. He now goes to the extend of saying even Mecca belongs to the Tamils.

Or have you become so powerless and impotent that you just want to make Sinhalese happy.

No body in this forum thnks you have much in your head instead your head must be examined.

Even a panel of psychiatrists working day and night can't help punc. He remains a squawking parrot with an irritating edge.
