No wonder Barack Hussein Obama never gives interviews.
Really gets off message when the teleprompter is not running.
Telling us that the government needs to take the earning of rich
hard working, productive Americans like a plumber, and give
it to those less productive. Whoops! Should not have let
that one slip out before election day.
Oh, not to worry, NBC, ABC, CBS will not run it.
But it will be your earnings he is coming after.
Hey, need that money to fund ACORN, Ayers, et el.

Lets see. Obama says he is not going to raise taxes on 95% of Americans.
WRONG!! When the Bush tax cuts expire, everyones taxes will go up.
Obama wants to use the tax code to end the welfare reform taxpayers worked
so hard to get passed under President Clinton.
Under Obama/Ayers, even more of those who dont pay any income taxes,
will get a refund.
Guess where that money is going to come from?
You guessed it! You. The hard-working taxpayers of America.
Doesnt surprise me that Obama is looking for a way to reverse
another Clinton-era policy. He will reverse Clintons free trade
policy. He will reverse Clinton’s balanced budget policy.
Well change alright. Right back to the dreaded days of Jimmy Carter.
Oh help us! High inflation. High Taxes. High unemployment.
Weak national security. Weak, incompetent leadership.

The campaign is starting to get mean spirited now? You have got to be kidding me.
Why? Because John McCain rightly points out Obama’s associations with an admitted, unrepentant terrorist? Why because Obama constantly has to change his story on how well he knows this person?
For 10 years the media has told us that John McCain was one of the most honorable men in Washington. Suddenly, when he won the nomination, the NYT ran unfounded stories smearing his reputation. Was the campaign mean spirited then?
Then the msm reports out right lies from uber-left blogs as news about a lady with an 85% approval rating in her home state. Was the campaign mean spirited then?
Actually the media have done Obama, themselves and the American people a great disservice by not really asking Obama any serious questions or investigating his past at all. Actually they have done the Democratic party and Hillary Clinton the same disservice as well. She most likely would be the nominee if any type of background reporting was done.
He is an unknown despite two memoirs and two years of campaigning for president. We don’t really know how he will behave under pressure, except to say “I’ve answered like 6 questions already”. And the time will come when he will face real pressure. Either from the Chinese, Iran, or some other unknown. All the more so because his metal has remained untested.
Perhaps the media seems to believe that the only way we can have a black president is through affirmative action. How sad. How very sad. And very untrue.

How is this news? If anyone with an ounce of brain matter in their head can't see that most liberal media sources are in the tank with ALL democratic candidates (from Obamamessiah to Bennett) then they have obviously been living under a rock for the past year.
Hop on over to the NY Times, Washington Post, or the Huffington Post and ask why you can see multiple articles about Palin's $2500 suit jackets, McCains "gaffes" and $600 shoes, but can't get any honest coverage of Obama's anti-2nd Amendment voting record or the ACORN debacle.
"Objective" journalism my a**.

Channel 69 needs to edit it's own, like drunk Kathy giggling though the weather telling everyone have a nice friday when it's thursday. Ed Hanna telling you a BIG snow storm is coming and when it doesn't adds up all the snow from the whole week and said," see I wasn't that far off the mark". Channel 69 is living proof of incompetence.
#26 Oct 15, 2008
You are claiming that Channel 69 could start a run on the banks by allowing a single statement to air unedited on a cable channel in Lehigh Valley PA?
How long have you been working on her campaign staff?

Dent bail out for $700 billion - No Way!!
Dent bail out for $700 billion with an additional $125 billion for congressional pet "projects" like millions for a wooden arrow concern in the Pacific northwest...
Yeah! Bring it on!!!
"Me like," says Charlie.

WFMZ is far from a liberal journalism distributor. They are amongst the most right wing conservative stations in the United States.
Charlie Dent through her a bone because she is 20+ points behind. Philadelphia clean up man Josh Levin has been asked to do a temporary miracle as a favor to Rendell. Rendell is trying to cover his tracks and put up a good show after twice backing Sam. First, he publicly backed her for mayor before last mayoral Democratic primary and then local contingent stepped in and told him he overstepped his bounds and wanted a clean and fair primary. We ended up with Pawlowski. As bad as he is, he is a better choice that Bennett.
He then early annointed her and gained concessions immediately of Lehigh and Northampton party chairs to endorse and not put up a challenging candidate. She early went into self destructive mode and except for giving her access to national fund raising lists and a token joint fund raiser appearance down in Philadelphia and Montgomery County and some campaign help, they have stayed clear of her locally. No major appearances by major party leaders to create public events for her.
Sam Bennett is an anchor that will drown you and everyone in state Democratic Party politics knows this. Rendell for some reason is infatuated with her. Josh Levin is a sharp guy who knows local congressional politics in Philadelphia region. I work side by side with him under Ken Miller who handled business and economic issues for PA during Kerry campaign in 2004. I feel sorry for Josh having to put this losing experience on his resume, but he is loyal dog and his next income flow depends on having a campaign to manage.
Soak Sam for everything she has Josh. She should be lucky that you stepped in. I hope you are spending your time on Obama stuff and very little on Sam.

If Judas was a Democrat the media would make sure you never heard his name again!!!

As an open-minded Independent, I watched this broadcast and also saw/heard the disclaimer displayed/announced prior to the debate.
If what is reported here is correct, I think WFMZ did the responsible thing by acting after consulting all parties involved plus the gov. agencies they report to.
Given the financial times we're in, there was no need to air something so unfair and misleading about 2 financial institutions in our area.
My opinion is the focus shouldn't be as much on the banks or the station, but rather on the candidate who stated incorrect facts. In equal light, and in a civil debate, to interrupt a broadcast mid-way with a correction, seems to me, even more embarrassing to a candidate.
Anyone following the local news already knew which banks Bennett referred to and that she erred. Not being very familiar with this candidate, I must say that I was overall not very impressed with her during this debate.
Also, this was the first time I can ever recall someone touching their opponent while in a debate, let alone in a patronizing manner (Bennett rested her hand on Dent's back) at least twice during that 30 minute broadcast. To me, that's a HUGE no-no!
NOTE: Also, this article doesn't mention there is a second portion of this debate to be broadcast next week. WFMZ's scheduling for the next portion of Iannelli's Business Matters and "The Race for Congress - Part 2" is slated for Monday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Very true, and they all look like funeral directors what a depressing gang there...Ed Hanna living proof of wrong and not be far off the mark , I like that SIR DUKE,!!!! To bad Miss Rachel Frank is gone, at least the new station will allow her to show off a bit!!!!!
#33 Oct 15, 2008
Dent flip flopped on the financial bailout. He votes 'NO' the first time then votes 'YES' only after billions of pork are added to the bill. Sam has my vote.
#34 Oct 15, 2008
Journalism has died in this country thanks to media bias. You people got FREEDOM OF THE PRESS so that you could report HONESTLY on the governments and related news items. Unfortunately, you have decided to pick someone to get elected. Go back to your dog and pony shows, that's where you belong. Honest reporting?
#35 Oct 15, 2008
She was bluntly lying and should have been exposed as such. Muting her hides that she was lying. If the station still felt that it needed to do anything, it should have run a text message that repudiated her lies.
#36 Oct 15, 2008
They should have bleeped out Bennett's talking every time she opened her mouth then she would have had a better chance of winning the election.
#37 Oct 15, 2008
LOL! I'm sorry to hijack this thread, but I just HAD to comment on something you've said.
You see, recently, I've been watching some of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre news channels. I've said the exact same "funeral director" (in my case, I used the word "mortician") appearance comments to others!
Geez, for all parties involved, I hope this isn't the new media trend! I guess each of us is ahead of the curve, as they say. LOL!
BTW, I caught Frank (I liked her, she was perky) announcing her last day on FMZ two Sunday's ago, where did she move on to? It seems the position she replaced Lee Brock for there is a short-term, dead-end prospect.

Come on be fair... ease up
To allow the airing of misinformation would result in even more bashing of TV69. Especially if there would be a local 'run on the bank', by something they allowed to be broadcast. Not only was it the right thing.. it was the responsible thing to do.
Imagine the legal implications that could result in the banks litigating damages caused by airing the piece.
So many will call this censorship. Not so. This being so by the very fact no one hid the edit as you can plainly see by this full public discloser now throughout the news sources of the valley. In essence nothing is covered up. Everybody knows about it, no?
What would you have done? Then imagine what criticism would have come your way no matter your choice on dealing with it. Perhaps rather then expose themselves to this in the future, what if they avoided airing any further debates? How would that benefit the voters?
#39 Oct 15, 2008
My name says it all. Dent and I don't agree on everything but the Demo candidate is an absolute disgrace.
This is the best candidate local Demos could find? Dent is not entrenched in Washington.
And Dent, grow some, will ya? You should have called her out on that one. Those are two huge local businesses and employers, something you should know about, and as a Republican, care about.
#40 Oct 15, 2008
Well actually this had that potential to do so. WFMZ coverage extends into the 3rd largest market area in Pennsylvania with over a potential several hundred thousand viewers. Image if wire and networks would have picked this up!
You do remember a few weeks ago when someone wrongly posted Jobs from Apple computer died and the stock tanked.
So the answer is YES it "COULD" have caused a 'run'.
#42 Oct 15, 2008
with all of the bashing they are doing on their commercials, that all end with-- "I approved this message..", what difference does it make if a mistake was made? They say a lot worse in their ad bashing of each other.
