It should be quite a relief that we now have a new CJ at last. But I still hold doubts that since she is an insider, GMA still keeps her mantle of protection over herself.. She holds the Aces....Money ! While her cohorts, supporters and allies still have in their possession of hidden wealth, every businessman and many professionals also are susceptible to offers of millions to be able to be of service to her.Nobody is immune to that temptation. Mabuhay ang Filipinas ! Mabuhay si Dr. Anastacio !

To avoid enrichment in office all members of the Supreme Court ought to submit their SALN's and list of properties now and be checked every year as a rule. This goes for all Government officials too. Only then will we enjoy a Government of Honest people.

The death of Robredo is a big loss for all Filipinos. We needed the likes of this great honest man to wake up the people of our country Let the man be the example for all politicians to look up to, because very few of them will ever be able to emulate the greatness of Jesse. He was a true Christian and may soon be a saint. The rest of our politicians today may find it very hard to pass thru the eye of a needle to enter Heaven ! So, be it.

MABUHAY OUR NEW CHIEF JUSTICE ! Mabuhay President Aquino for appointing a very good woman for the post of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Now he can proceed with the clean up drive he has waited for so long. May God guide them both to a much needed job of reforming the Judiciary and our Judicial System .

As always , in this world...there are the the Good and the bad as wall as a good honest and honorable Lawter and the dirty crooked Lawyer. We have seen both during the crucial moments of the Corona Impeachmenr. The Good ones stood out tall and proud,....but the bad one's showed their true colors right away. They only needed a Dollar sign imprinted on their forehead. I remember a true story of a good lawyer friend who was mysteriously very ill. Both his palms were oozing with pus and he was in great pain. The palms had a hole in the middle !While alone in his room,( we where outside} we heard sounds of instruments being tossed around yet, he was all alone. The wife and some of us rushed in to see only to see that his jacket was off and the intravenous tubes where not on his arms. He said an Angel came to tell him rhat no blood transfusion is needed, he will be ok. but the Angel also told him that there are many many Lawyers seen in Hell He was cured and quit his profession after that. He is a farmer now in Silay, Negros Occ. A daily communicant he waS.

Let us all congratulate the country for its respect to the role of women in society. the Philippines must make the other countries think twice. We have had women presidents and now we have Chief Justice Sereno as the first woman Chief Justice of the country. That by itself is an achievement.

It is not right that because the President of the Philippines handpicked her as chief Justice, she is now the chosen one?
The president didn't really handpick her the JBC give a short list to the president and the president pick-it-out from that short list.

Its alot better when Gloria Arroyo, Just pick Renato Corona, Out of nowhere so that Renato Corona, Can protect her from all her sin to the filipino people. I salute SERANO! WELCOME!

a lot of flowery words meaning absolutely nothing. just a chamce to be in the news, since it is already known that 4 people on the list scored low (failed) the psych tests and the educational aptitude tests.

to filipinos that means nothing of course. why would it? they never think a process through fully.

sereno, being one that failed the tests was aquinos obvious choice , as he let 2 appoitment deadlines pass until he got the CJ he wanted and could use as his puppet.

once again the world watches and laughs at your so-called democratic gov. with wide eyed amazement.

INSTITUTIONALIZE IS THE KEY WORD HERE.

think aquino is concerned about filipinos here or maybe just Hacienda Luisita?

I will eat my hat if you are not one of the "has beens" you are now displaced and you hate that, but now you want to show just how stubborn you are in thinking that you have the answers to all things. Perhaps you are a Lawyer and a rich one at that. Today's Inquirer has an article about Lawyers and Pharishes", read it if you are one.

Our country is actually suffering from divisiveness. On one side are the "has beens" or the people whose layalty were bought by GMA and the Reformers or people who are now working for the present administration. There is no doubt that among the reformers are quite a few holdovers from the past and they still hold their benefactor as their hero. Sad to say, most of not all of GMA's boys remain loyal to her,...our President knows it and will keep up his pledge to clean up all these trapos from the past for a very god reason, that of being charged for their past offenses such as ill gotten wealth.
