Thanks for reply CRB.
You wrote "The answer lies in everybody learning to control themselves."

Sadly true, but even more sadly, that's never going to happen in a mortal world - not without a lot of mass drugging anyway.

Referring to M Moore "but it is really naive to assume that he tells things how they are."

'Even a truth told with bad intent beats all of the lies one can invent'.

Naive? Oh how I wish I had those days back again! Life and over 30 years nursing and all it's bullsh politics knocked out every bit of innocence or naivety I once had.
Life was so much simpler back then, when everyone told the truth and Governments really cared about the people.??? ha!

Because of certain events which happened in my 20's, I stop believing everything I was told, and started investigating what goes on behind the scenes. There's corruption to the highest order in the sickness industry.
These days I find it hard to find the honesty in a blade of grass!

I believe gun control has nothing what-so-ever to do with the crime rate, and everything to do with dis-arming the general population to further a government ? agenda.'Control' and 'people' being the operative words. Was the Port Arthur massacre the catalyst for Australia's revised gun laws?

If interested, Google 'The truth about the Port Arthur Massacre'- very complex. We'll know the 'truth' in 30 years time when the documents are declassified and can be released for public viewing...if they still exist by then, some have 'disappeared ' already.
Or perhaps 'The Northwood Documents' would be more to your liking. They are now declassified. Scary!
How about "The truth behind Fluoridation" ?
There's many enlightening sites to explore these days and it's sometimes hard to know just what to believe.

But, never never never go looking for the truth on any site that has .gov.org in the title.:)

I love reading the blogs on Topix and seeing the 'youngster's' mostly intelligent posts and different points of view; it gives me a sense of hope for the world's future, as they are more informed these days than my generation were at the same age. Just remember, you'll probably never get every single thing right, but don't stop trying or questioning. We are here to learn, no matter how old or wise we like to think we are.[Sorry for preaching... I just had another not so random senior moment.....]

Over exposure to information is also bad.
I'm sure you are aware of it!

Yes sir, very aware. Searching for answers can lead to obsession, compulsion, paranoia, fanaticism etc...

Being under informed is equally as harmful.

Brain-washing is more dangerous than the above. Repeat something often enough and most people are likely to believe it no matter what the evidence is to the contrary. Something governments and the media are excellent at achieving.

In all, people will believe what they 'want' to believe.

There's an old saying that I believe says it all.

"It's not the things that happen in this life that matter. It is only man's opinion of the things that happen, that matters."

As for the U.S. gun culture costing lives, can anyone name one single thing orchestrated by humans that hasn't cost lives? Prescription drugs kill so many more people every year world wide, than any gun shots fired by civilians in the good ole U.S. of A.
