The US has no choice but to wait and see who wins the upcoming election. If it’s a moderate/centrist, then relations can be gradually implemented. But if it’s someone (Maduro) who continues to espouse Chavez’s views, including that paranoiac anti US views, then it may take years to re-establish normalcy.
