Some people eh, your question was. What is it?. Hence the link, duh. Its a free trade possible !!!! agreement. POSSIBLE is the word, it was due for submissions to be discussed and that dead line has been and gone, so as per usual the pacific islands havent even bothered to look into it ( better things to do i suppose, ha ha )and have missed the deadline, maybe they think their better of just sticking their hands out as usual. Australia should pull out all troops and support for any island nation. Seems their full of all the answers yet do nothing to solve any of their problems. Which are nearly all bad governance.

Australian government should wake up and be decent to people in real need. Why does some pacer plus scheme need to have a deadline? Why has it been seemingly impossible to get information as to what pacer plus is all about? Why should those in the political know be virtually the only ones able to participate in pacer plus? Why is there almost no ABC online or other news about SI and real problems impacting SW Pacific islanders? Google Phantom Aid. Why is Aus sitting back and hiding it's own sewage nutrient pollution of the SW Pacific Ocean that has gone toward devastating traditional natural available fish resources needed by indigenous people? Take a look at the gagging and hidden information about Aus coastal current and nutrient pollution fed algae smothering seagrass and coral while us PM Rudd raves about a SCHEME to trade and make money from CO2 ETS. Have a look on www.Agmates and see what real Aus people think of the SCHEME. Forcing people to negotiate when they need real development assistance is absolutely rotten.

I agree with that sentiment JF AUS. But then, that seems to be the modus operandi...strongarm tactics of DCs when dealing with LDCs or the Global South.

It looks to me like it's the top of the economy holding the bottom of the economy down. There seems to be no real democracy, just investors and money lenders that want more and more money and control. Well, they are in for a big shock because ocean food resource devastation they have created by allowing it to continue unchecked is already causing more and more unrest like with food riots worldwide. How stupid. With all the data that now exists we should all be doing really well. PACER Plus, what is it really? Free trade, what trade? Trade with what? What do the PACER people think is there to be traded on a sustainable basis? Does SI have a lot of untapped oil or something?

I presume things would have been alot better had australia not come to the solomon islands. Its needs a deadline due to the fact ALL pacific nations drag their a$$es in everything they do. Ask the solomon island, or new zealand government why they dont produce pacer documentation, why is it always australia, australia. Phantom aid, mmm, theres also a thing called phantom need for aid. Australia came to help bring si back into the rule of law, NOTHING ELSE !!!. So why all of a sudden does the solomon islands need cash etc etc. When it was s islanders that started the whole problem. Shouldnt the solomon island government be decent to its own people. In another post you rant the rich are keeping the poor down, must be australias fault too. Try looking into who's doing the REAL rorting of solomon island seas, JAPAN. As for the pollutants, should australia do what to change ocean currents ?, we should have a 14 thousand km pipeline into the pacific should we, what. There is plenty of things being done to comabt pollutants being sent into the sea, but theres only so much that can be done. SO, no new guinean, new zealand, east timor, indonesian, pollutants damage the sea, just australia's. The solomon islands didnt need the assitance it gets now before so is to blame for needing it now> Wake up AID CREATES POVERTY.
