Outcome was Croatia owns Vukovar and dirty chetniks had heavier loses with casualties and war equipment.

What did Serbia gain in the last war, nothing! And they lost all of Kosova.

Vukovar broke the spine on the JNA and the chetnik paramilitaries, no Croatian city would fall again.

short term it was, long term it wasn't. It was a phyrric victory, ie a victory but at a huge expense. Ths Serbs (JNA and local renegades/paramilitaries) lost 5,000 killed and wounded and 130 tanks and armoured vehicles, the croats took just 2,500 killed, wounded or missing. Vukovar broke the Morale of the JNA and they no longer had the strength or will to capture Osijek (just a few miles down the road) never mind Zagreb or the rest of Slavonia, which was the JNA's original aim. The battle of Vukovar gave the croats time to rearm and by 1992 the fighting had come to a standstill and the JNA forced to with draw, thanks to the sacrifice at Vukovar.

True......

But its pretty funny how it took Serbs three months to take Vukovar,.And it took 12 hours for Croats to take knin

It just shows the difference in bravery and will power between Croats and Serbs

Yeah, so they claim , it is extremely likely that the JNA casualties were far higher but they just didn't want to say so. Many historians (including some Serb ones) claim a MIMIMUM of 3000 dead with a figure of 5000 more likely when JNA and Serb milita (white eagles and Arkans tigers) are put into the equation.. Even if it was 1103 were killed thats still around 5% of their forces lost - still a large figure

JNA losses in Vukovar were light
Only on JNA side 1103 were killed

Up to 95% of Croatian army was destroyed in this battle

Cro army in Vukovar had 1656 killed and wounded

Vukovar:

1800 poorly armed Croat army & Police

Vs

36,000 Heavily armed JNA and unknown number of Serb paramilitary troops

The Serb high command in Belgrade thought that Vukovar would fall in 2-3 days, But it took them around 3 months to do this.

It showed great courage and bravery at the hands of the Croats, While in Knin during oluja 4 years later outnumbered and out gunned Serbs fought on for a pathetic 12 hours !

Lol

nije tocno, according to wikipedia (your favourite source of info) Croat army lost 879 killed/missing , croat army was less than 2000 strong so if you do the math, the croat army actually lost 44% of their force, not 95%

kind of yeah, but don't forget in 1991 the Croats with no army were effectively fighting a war on there fronts , against the JNA in the east (Vukovar etc) fighting the battle of the barracks across the country and against the krajina Serbs supported by the JNA air force and navy along the coast all at the same time

Hehe little Serb

Only 800 Croat troops died in Vukovar the rest were wounded or went missng

In that case 3000 Serbs were killed wound or missing
