Hello friends,
I have a dance class at school and I have to do a power point presentation about Samoan dance. Our professor wants at least answer this two questions

Has the dominant/privileged class acculturated the dance of this group?

Are there social, economic, or political structures still in place today that suppress this group and, therefore, devalue their cultural expression?

thank you

This is your lucky day.

ive got a video for all your questions, its not about Samoa but its a leading Fijian entertainer called Tompingpong. he is an acclaimed dancer among his peoples and performs traditional jungle dances and attire of the treetops and caves of Fiji, where he was born.

Hope you Enjoy:)

Samoan dances of now are not authentic, usually a cheap made up version of another polynesian bitten off dance w/ a gay twist and accompanying it with a silly Fia Malosi story behind it... Manaia le siva! lmao haha
