  • We should ban all guns.

As a gun owner, I am against any banning of handguns. I would be for banning assault rifles since i just dont see why the everyday citizen would need it. You dont need an AK 47 to protect your family, a Glock or XDM, and a Mossberg 500 would do the job.

I'm not an american citizen but as a outsider looking in, I support the banning of guns in USA. So many mass murders occur due to the fact that guns are WAY to easily accessible there, there is just way too many private owners. I believe taken the second amendment out of the constitution, increases safety and reduces the likelihood of criminal activity, but most importantly prevent mass murders that America has become notoriously known for.

I believe the main point we're missing here is 'INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS!' Whether it's free speech, owning a gun or what have you! These 'rights' are guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.

Once these rights are taken away by Executive Orders, then we might as well have a 'king' in the White House. It is no longer 'freedom' for the individual to do as he/she pleases. Big brother will be watching every move we make.

Therefore, until such time, if/when constitution is amended, these rights should never be taken away from the INDIVIDUAL. This applies to owning ANY TYPE OF GUN.

Lastly, the machete didn't cut the old lady's head off by itself, the SUV did not drive itself to the lake and drown the kids! Obviously, the gun did not pull the trigger by itself.

While I'm in pursuit of my happiness; "LET THE FRIGGING SLEEPING DOGS LIE."

I agree, however i am for banning assault rifles...nobody needs them unless you are in the military or law enforcement. When the constitution was written, Im sure back then they werent thinking high powered automatic machine guns would ever be invented. And if you wanna go by the constitution, then we should be able to carry our guns anywhere and everywhere, even in bars, do you really think thats a good idea? The everyday citizen should have guns to protect themselves and family, but unless you live in Iraq or Afghanistan or a war zone, you dont need to have assault rifles.

U/P,

As they say my friend, "Different strokes for different folks."

I still say the gun is not the problem. I don't believe any of these sickos and wackos who committed the recent hateful crimes had any extended training on principles, safety and disciplines on the use of firearms.

It has been awhile but I'm sure I can still name 99%(if not all) of the nomenclatures of the M16A1 and Baretta 9mm pistol I used to carry. Those principles are everlasting.

My point is; These murderers don't give a flying fluck about gun safety or any of that stuff! Their minds are set on stealing & killing without mercy, when they feel the need for speed (if you know what I mean)...

The US school systems should look into teaching these important factors instead of pounding the children with their liberal failures.

As an Englishwoman who was lucky enough to spend nany years in the beautiful state of Colorado here is my two penniesworth. I met several peiple who proudly kept guns for hunting. These guns were always kept securely. I think thar tighter gun checks are needed but the recent spate if reportrd killings have been made by emotional young peoplle who believe that tjey have ben wronged and they have beenable to just pick up a gun and seek revenge instead of using words or fist. So I also think that the registered gun holder should be criminally responsible for all acts carried out by their weapon if left unsecured
