Ua confusing tele i lenei matā'upu. Ae ua malie taliga le faalogo.E tatau ona sisi’i le viiga i le Atua. Auā o ia lava Tupu moni i lenei lalolagi atoa. A o vae taimi na, aso anamua o samoa. E leai ni tupu. E tofu le nuu ma le latou faalupega. From my understanding Sa'o was the highest ranking ranked individual by name sake, such as Alii.I with draw from using the word cheif due to the fact that its a western translation that takes away the true meaning of what a true matai is. And "tofi" as such. Just food for thought.

When I think of Samoa, I often think of a bunch of mini kingdoms, within one great kingdom.(Hope that made sense).Being that each village have their own ranks of hierchy, Yet, they all connect only through blood ties. Samoa o se i'a ua iviivia.

Old Samoa History belief indicated that Tagaloa/Nafanua was God ,after the arrival of Christianity to shore of Samoa bring the New religion to which was embrace/accepted.
I guess for my understanding Old history belief were not dissimilar to Christianity belief. As Christianity belief more Pragmatism rather blind faith. Which is link to Samoa motto (Samoa is founded by God)Faavae le Atua Samoa. For Me there only one God , which our lord and saviour one God forever and ever .

here a lesson to know God Loves you and God always around

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table.. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.

"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.

"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.

By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient..

"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins.

"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.

The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away the boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left..
When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish,
were two nickels and five pennies..

You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

Magaia le mataupu! This is my personal opinion based on my knowledge so bare with me.
* I don't know if you noticed but a lot of confusion takes place when you bring up, O AI LE TUPU MONI O SAMOA. I believe the confusion takes place for the term TUPU seems to have overshadowed an even older term that is equivilent to TUPU which is the term TUI.
Original royal lines of Samoa -(Tagaloa Clan)
1) Tui Manu'a Ma Samoa Atoa
2) Tui Atua
3) Tui A'ana
4) Tui Tonga
* The term Tupu originated when the Tafa'ifa came about around the 14th to 15th century when Salamasina was first proclaimed TUPU O SAMOA.
So to answer your question O le Tui mo'i o Samoa o Tui Manu'a so to answer o le Tupu moni o Samoa o Salamasina.
