My cousin is planning her wedding and her parents want it done full Fa'asamoa..my cousin whos husband is Tongan doesn't mind traditional or fa'apalagi very understanding cause hes mamoga...my cousin on the other hand loves a traditional wedding but not a faifeau's daughter as her maid of honor although its Samoan custom for a bride to have the faifeau's daughter as her maid of honor regardless if shes good or bad..that sucks alot, also she doesn't want heaps if bridesmaids. One more thing the most complicated of them all,she wants her best friend who is already married and has kids to be her maid of honor, but in Samoan custom maid of honor should not be married or any kids, is it possible for her to still respect her parents and break our Fa'asamoa traditional ways?
lol.. I'll come for a chat soon, like when i feel like it lol.. Just lookin at ya comm...that ain't fa'asamoa..well,maybe some, intertwined with palagi and ...the rest you know lol... Be careful when you say traditional ...coz it ain't lmaooo lol

...good topic,as it affects all polyz... Be back !!

In Samoa? No, Other countries Maybe, depends whether family status is important. just get a fa'apaia from the faifeau, and have a small feast with an elite group of important people, no hassles for anyone, especially when the economy and currency is struggling, too much spent to make families look good.

Is the faasamoa way going to help her sustain her marriage?? I don't think so...tell your friend to do what she and her future husband wants....mom and dad had their own wedding ceremony already, now let the girl have her own...as for the maid of honor...tell her to pick her best friend or sister, not the faifeau's daughter as if doing that is going to get her a ticket to Heaven!
