I'm just saying that you've mentioned his name a few times when you've been talking to me and I don't know why. Perhaps you could elaborate on that for all of us ;)
"l was right about t olds folks"
What do you mean you were right?? You came here to talk garbage about 'Tongic' so don't try and back track now. I already knew that many Samoan elders can speak the old dialect. But what I was asking was if anyone in HERE (Topix) could speak or understand it.
MY FRIEND INCREASE THE PEACE.I have been reading this thread and you seem like a good person.Do not let this silly person BENZ upset you .I think he has mental health/anger issues.Let us pray for his deliverance.

What good would it do u, if anyone understood or spoke it here, u don't even understand modern Samoan language, does anyone in your family, even know how to speak that...hihi...lol.
"Why r u being over sensitive when it come to FW, perhaps u can elaborate about that."

I asked you a question and you answer with a question. When people do that they usually want to avoid answering the original question. I must've stumbled onto something ;)

I already know that the old dialect is rarely spoken anymore. But what Benz was saying is that Samoan is 'Tongic'. That's where I disagreed with him.
And yes you're right about the elders. I just visited another friend of mine today and he said that most of the older folk in his family can speak/understand the old dialect. It seems it isn't as rare as I once thought.
It's all good Crease, I know where you commin from, you sharp enough to distinguish criticism, I wasn't tryin to swing on that nigguh's Nutz, but was just tryin to validate the first part of his statement. Anything after, came from his A$$ as far as I'm concerned.

I do wanna differ with you as far as rarity, some of our Orators are and have simplified from originality to understanding simply due to lack of every day use. In the past, it was practically everyday usage, presently, b'cause of the mighty dollar rather than traditional Ie Toga etc...etc... we are careful in which occasion it would render. Nowadays, the chief of the particular aiga is skeptical due to financial burdens it may create within his family..........nuff said, I think you can catch the drift I'm gettin to. Atleast you show interest in our culture. Good hunting!

Very true. But I am glad that is still alive in some form. Better than being extinct altogether. You never know, there may be a small group of Samoans in a remote part of the islands who still know the original language and speak it often.

Spelling, grammar and syntax errors not withstanding, your posts are getting weirder by the minute. I seriously don't know why you're asking me why I have an obsession with FW when it's YOU who keeps mentioning his name not me. I even notice you mentioning my name to others. What's the deal Benny boy?? ;)

Well I'm not sure if it was the original language of the Samoans but it is older than todays tongue. Someone in here said that the chiefly dialect is close to it but not quite. I can't actually speak Samoan at all but I do know that certain people from my grandpas family and my grandmas family know (or at at least understand) old Samoan.
