I was reading one of the threads here and something interesting came up. Someone accused someone else of being an Oriental "afakasi" i.e. not a pure blooded Samoan.
Now to me (as an outsider) Samoans/Tongans look incredibly "oriental" already. So I just assumed this is how they look. But the more I learn about it, the more it seems that apparently "pure bloods" look different. For instance (apparently), they are darker-skinned and LESS oriental-looking.
Can someone here enlighten me about this? What exactly does a "pure blood" Samoan look like? I thought it was a given that they had that Oriental look ("Chinese eyes") but I think I have been mistaken.
I had assumed that Polynesians as a group were generally more oriental-looking, with the Melanesians looking more black (Africanised - though not exactly like Africans).
I guess the question then is, what does a "pure" Polynesian look like?

I guess the question then is, what does a "pure" Polynesian look like? like a Tongan... don't look at Samoans... they carry Chinese last names... but there are also other Polynesian people... Rarotongans.. Hawaiians.. hard to find the pure ones.. not dat many..

C'mon Beck you're not really an outsider...you are just being an INSTIGATOR by creating a topic thread that invites volatile responses between samoans and tongans. Drop the mask....Halloween is over dear.
