Samoan community challenges Brisbane Mormon church language 'ban'

Samoan Mormons in Australia have lodged action in the Federal Appeals Court claiming the church is preventing them from worshipping in the local language.

If you want to live and work in Ausralia where English is the dominant or even official langu
age, expect to be expected to use English publicly..
We have a family member who has learnt Spanish to serve in a Spanish speaking mission.....no doubt going to a Samoan mission would have meant learning Samoan....

You act as if it is impossible to speak both. FYI Most Samoans in Australia were born there so have no problem at all with English. I don't know why having a service in Samoan is such a big deal. Other churches do it...

Does this apply to Muslims, Hindus and other different religions in Australia?. Are they expected to conduct all their services in English?.

the only true religion in the world having these types of issues/problems? You would think they would let the "lost tribe" polys speak whatever language they want... hihihihi
