he is right he should be the next Malietoa, his grandfather didnt let the side Malietoa Tuitasina take the title because it is the right thing for the world if this is how things works, it shouldnt go to cousins, they are family but it will be the biggest mistake to do that, so the eldest is not alife so the next son should take the title it is the right thing to do, saying that the Malietoa title is like all the Matai well you know that is not the right thing for the court to say, that is like againsting the traditional way of the country so it is not that good to say so, the title should go to the right owner, the second one, not to cousins, if pass to someone else that is the family's biggest mistake...

Sorry your wrong. the Malietoa line has always followed the protocal of eldest son to eldest son. Moli is not the eldest son period. Laupepa was the eldest of the late Head of States children and he has a son who is alive. the rights of the people as suli are not extingished solely beccause their parents have died. If that is the case then the all of Tanumafili II'S childrens should be disqualified as their father is dead. But the foundation(Faavae) of the title already exist and should not be changed unless people want war.

Suli, I think your right about the son to son bit but I think you might be wrong in that Laupepa, when he died, had never held the Malietoa title, so why should it cross the lines of MT II's son whose father WAS the Malietoa?
And its ridiculous to say all of MT II's children should be disqualified because their father is dead - how do you think MT II got the Malietoa title? Ans: When HIS father died. The glaring difference is, HIS father ACTUALLY held the Malietoa title, and his father before him and so on etc etc.
I dont think Laupepa's son's rights are in anyway extinguished. Maybe your mistaking rights with ambition - and this is only delayed. Personally, I think he just doesnt want to wait his turn - if it comes to that.

A Suli right is never extingushed, its given by God. No mortal can take the faasinomaga paia of a suli away. And in the history of the Malietoa title it was vacant for three generation because there was no male heir, so you point about Laupepa no having the Malietoa therefore he could not pass it on to his son is unconvinincing. You need to know the history of Suafa, the Gafa, the faavae. Moli argued your point in court and did not get him anywhere as he did not have the evidence to pack his theory up with. And if such a protocal was valid then all of the suli of Talavou and Gatuitasina would likewise be out of contention as the present heirs of Malietoa Talavou and Malietoa Gatuitasina had no parents that were title holders. But the decision in 1939 is clear that they too have rights to the title. So to conclude there was never a protocol by which a suli or any suli is excluded from holding a title becuase their father was not a title holder. That was just pure fabrication by Moli who was obviously too ambitious for his own good. After all the court declared his saofai void and null.

I think that decision of the courts is valid and fair. the next Malietoa should be a person that could bring the three clans together.

Se Tauwez, aua le au mai ia ga kaekafe i le makaupu. Fuolekoelau is dead and beried and can never be resurected. And truth be know, who know if there was ever such a person. But we all know there was a Laauli. What ever his parental heritage was like he and his heirs still retain the title and you are graping at straws. Se so ia le fia Falealili fua.

Nakamiso, what does that have to do with the issues realting to the court case over the Malietoa title? If you people don't have a contribution to make about one of the most important traditional titles of Samoa and the South Pacific then please take your views elsewhere. E taua le mataupu, pe o ai e talafegai ma le suafa. Why, becuase so much of the traditon of Samoa are associated with or born from the Malietoa title. Also becuase so much of Samoa's lands are controlled by the Malietoa title. Who married who is superficial and of no consequence.

Hey Faikala my question has nothing to do with this issue it was just a new question. And so therefore answer it. If you aint connected to the Malietoa suafa why should you worry? Didnt the late Malietoa himself (RIP) say that every Samoan is a king?
