@increase the peace- no insult taken.. your right culture does change along the way naturally.. but the whites sure sped that process up.. when the whites traded iron nails for war clubs there was an art renassaince. a boom in the carvings and change of designs. the hawaiians even started to tattoo goats on themselves when the whites introduced the animal to the island.. nobody knows how much of our traditions was lost.. i sure wish would give anything to go back to the days before europeans came. just to see how it was..

Tu'i Siaosi was not a genuine Christian. It was a facade of some sort... He used his convert story to save Tonga! Part of his poker face game playing in the midst of colonialism/imperialism times to save Tonga. so yea, LOL

Malo polo kio, sorry poly king. what do you mean a facade? perhaps you are now the prime example of a tongan facade. malo e faigamalie

I want a mosque in samoa because to many samoans are brained washed from the west and their ways of lying to the world ,you need to wake up some of you so called Christians ,palagis brang their teachings into samoa to controll our people , yet we managed to keep our culture alive , study countries that were colonised and had missionaries bought in to fulfil the other side of colonising by controlling the indigenous people's of the lands that were stolen ,yet we act and work with these same ufas to help them achieve them in these dumb and low deals they offer samoa , government for example is tryin to make samoa a real estate attraction to foreigners and sell land to samoans who have no links to that land ,We as the people will become a minority who will one day be fighting for our right and land and maybe our way of life, back to being a Christian ,you would curse at a Muslim practicing his or her religion in a mosque in samoa yet you would not curse t. Casino big enough to see from savai'i ,why ?? Cause that's just how we think !! It's the fakeness that upsets me !!!!

Bring back the old "Tagaloa" samoan religion, per se. It served us well for thousand of years. Our story of creation should be taught in school. Muslin and Christian are the same...It's just that Muslim are stuck in the dark ages. I can not accept any religion which approves the murdering of non-believers by its god.

^I believe people should live their life the way they want. They should be responsible for the choices they make. Good or bad. We should not treat our people like young children. They should be allowed to enter or play the casinos if they can afford it.

It upsets me how samoa now concentrates on profit rather than appreciating the old ways that were taught through the knowledge of how to use the resources of our island in farming and culture ,our traditions will soon be not of importance and that's what scares me , what we are doing is going to affect us, it's just ashame that some people, not all can't see that, because they are blinded by profit and greed ,I just hope that they wake up before its too late . We will be the only ones to blame ..thank you and if you disagree algood ..

^Don't get upset. Profit and appreciating old ways is okay. The world is changing and old tradition, sometimes, hinders progress. You can not appreciate old tradition if you do not have a job. Job and Profit is relative. If you a job-money, than u can appreciate anything u want and need. lol

I understand what you are saying ,a job and profit do go hand in hand but don't make it a important way of thinking ,understand that there are two ways of being successful (1) a palagi way - through having a good education and having a successful job , and (2) the samoan way of success is through carrying out duties within the family system prioritysing our elderly and carrying out our parents wishes without hesitation , but any way we seem to make things that are not important ,important, for our own comfort .but anyway I can go on and on ,love my people and my culture just don't criticise things you don't understand if it were religion or another cultures beliefs ..remember we are built on the foundations of respect !!thank you ..

I scoff at your "blame the white man" "black panther" mentality. If really want that change then I suggest that you yourself relocate to samoa and live that western influenced free life. Change starts within the four corners of your own household. I hear you tho on the Faasamoa ways being lost. But I think our people back home are doing a great Job on maintaining the Faasamoa while moving foward to the present century. Tamasese epi said that FaaSamoa cannot be taught, but it must be lived and practised in the four corners of our own homes.

Being from the states and living here my whole life. I beleive that the main key of maintaing the faasamoa in this generation and generations to come lies within the churches. Prodominently loku kaikis N loku mekokisis. Other then family faalavelaves; Samoan churches are the only place where we are exposed to Faasamoa in action with the individual and as well as the individuals' family as a whole.

I live in Samoa and do all that traditional stuff: faalavelave....etc. Its a balancing act that sometimes seems unfair because of old tradition. E magaia lava le komumu 'ae fan lava mea 'e kakau oga fai. If you follow the $ during any si'i(faalavelave), that dollar will only benefit only a few. It's not fair, yet I accept it as culture. The funny thing is, I do not mind donating to my family fa'alavelave because its more than just money. It's a controlled festive occasion where I learn a lot about the substance of being Samoan. So who cares if people know good Muslims. Does that mean we accept Islam? Samoa should and always Worship the God of Israel. Cause He is our God! Our Bible tells us so.

If you want to start an arguement about we Worship the same 1 God. Than start from Jesus because Jesus should be the Focus of any discussion to do with God. And if you compare the Jesus of the quran to the Jesus of the Word of God "Bible" they are completely different.

Dont fall into the trap of we serve the 1 god cause the Truth is if Islam is against Israel you know for sure it will twist what we have heard about Jesus. And we know the Only one who brings a religion of Destruction is the Antichrist in other words yes this is the religion of Satan.

i apologize for my last post, sorry if you were offended. Muslim is not my religion and therefore i did get heated up in the midst of things and i dont wish you should end.... that was stupid of me. Again sorry. However, i believe samoans are turning to muslims because of their own negative experience in their christian, jehovah churches or the experience of their parents. Often the fa'a samoa can influence the actions of churches, or the church leaders which may impact those who attend the church. My point is dont look at the fa'a samoa and chritian ways as one and decide to turn muslim but make a judgement on chritianity without the fa'a samoa influence. Again i am sincerely sorry for my previous comment, im trying to control anger issues.

don't worries guy, muslims in samoa will be the kindest people on earth ...at least for now. Because you have to accept them. Wait when they ll increase in number and they ll be different character too. I bet that in less than 2 or 3 generation, half of Upolu will be muslim. And guess what happen in a country where there is half muslim and half non muslims? This is how you conquer a country . Don t sit back and believe that what is happening in Africa, Europe, America and Asia can t happen in Samoa ?
