We Samoans (or maybe just me) take offense to the all are one, live happy, peace and love. As I am thankful to live here in America, I remember my history of Samoa. Would we have been better off without the Western influence? Maybe. But to put us in box and tell us to live and think a certain way, maybe not. As history (written history) can prove lineage from Kamehameha to Samoa, ours have mostly been verbal history. Samoans will always be warriors, because our survival depended on it, and still depends on it today. Only when you truly live the life of a Samoan, Tongan, or Fijian (not Fiji-indian), or other SOUTH PACIFIC peoples can you feel the ties that bind. Let me leave you with this small WTH point. Why do Hawaiians never wear their native dress in everyday life? Samoans do. It is called a lavalava or ie. Kamehameha would be ashamed when the Samoans and Tongans recognize his Highness but his own people would "try talk pidgin" or braddah this, sistah that. In the SOUTH PACIFIC our cultures are lived everyday! Hawaii, please learn that true "polynesians" (PALAGI word) know, live, and practice their culture everyday.

Also i hear in Tonga they wear modern clothes and have roads and buildings (Forgive me if i'm wrong). Not so diferrent from my islands. And Samoa .... Well they got Tuna Canneries. LOL Jk'z. They ain't so diferrent too. So don't act like Tonga and Samoa is sooo much more "Island" than Hawai'i, because my people actually know how to SWIM. We paddle waka's, fish, make lauhala matts, a lot of our traditions. We are modern but we still hold on to our culture. But outsiders will never understand.

hawaiian has no culture at this point. they are picking up from here and there. japan is a better place to see the hawaiian culture.

waka, samoa is loaded with wakas, called paopao, faukasi, and more.

fish, why you lol at the tuna factory, your eating fish caught by the flips and japs,

lauhala matts, that is a joke, samoa, tonga, fiji, you see women weaving them 24/7 - lucky you find hawaiian women weaving in hawaii. check where you bought your matts from. wallmart or ace hardware, made from the thailand

traditions, well let me see you wearing your malo everywhere every day versus me wearing my lavalava. i challenge you to do that and see how you feel. i bet you wont even own one. buddy wear a lavalava it is much safer and less revealing. you would do well with your malo in san francisco.

swimming: funny because after the duke swam in olympics, that was the last hawaiian i heard of in swimming.

summary, i think you need to leave this rock and expand your horizon of how other people are. interestingly they are no different from you. the outsiders do not understands you because you are close minded.

True Kamehameha was Hawaiian but his lineage stems from Samoa through Samoan PILI who became a King of Hawaii hundreds of years before Kamehameha. KING OF HAWAII DAVID KALAKAUA confirms these claims.

Why do Hawaiians have to look like native Samoans when they obviously came from Tahiti? And why Samoans of all people, when Chinese blood has seriously contaminated Samoan blood? lol
These are just some questions that need to be addressed...
