I find it interesting that in Fiji the Tui Viti title is a recent title and the first to proclaim himself Tui Viti was Cakobau. When Fiji was ceded to Great Britain, the Fijian council of Chiefs bestowed the Tui Viti title upon Queen Elizabeth II making her a Tui Viti.

Tui Viti Title:

* Fijian traditions do not recognize the title Tui Viti as being ancient.

* Samoan/Polynesian Traditions on the other hand recognizes the Tui Fiti title as being ancient.

Could the Ancient Tui Fiti title be associated with Polynesians instead of Melanesians hence it is only recognized in Polynesia and not Melanesia?

I was wondering when someone was gonna bring this up! lol. How did I know it was going to be you of all people Lmao.

Fiji is very old! The title of Tui Viti existed but wasn't recognized! Tui Viti was delegated first when Lutunasobasoba arrived! This resulted in the legendary battle that took place in 'bukebuke' western viti levu. Now, you must understand that in those days,'Viti or Fiti' was the name for the mainland only, which is now called Viti Levu! The battle dispersed all the clans from the west... Now, there was a people that were present called the 'Waimaro'. They were in Fiji before Lutunasobasoba arrived, and they hosted the event to unite the two groups into one people.

During the ceremony, everyone agreed to make Lutunasobasoba Tui Viti except for a handful of clan leaders. The remnant of these ancient clans still exist to this day. They became powerful tribes that continued to disregard Lutunasobasoba's mana throughout the coarse of history. Which could be a factor in the relentless and endless war that raged in fiti. If you go to Nakauvadra, the site of the disagreement, they will tell you straight in your face that they do not know and do not want to know about Lutunasobasoba!

Even though the inauguration never went ahead, Lutunasobasoba was still recognized as the father head and his mana continued. He's eldest son rokomoutu took on the mana of is father. Before he died, he called all his grandchildren for a race to compete for the title. This took place in verata! The winner was to become the Tui Viti, or the mana of the Tui Viti at least. The youngest of his grandchildren was the victor which was abhorred by the others! So they refused to recognize him as the new leader... He then fled to a place called 'Tonga-matanisiga' which is believed to be Tonga. When he was old enough, he returned back but never set foot on verata, instead, he stayed on a tiny island facing verata called 'Bau'! Eventhough he wasn't installed as the predecessor of his grandfathers title, he inherited the mana instead. The mana of the tui viti! His descendants were great leaders in those days... Very wise and very strong! This is where Cakobau's kingdom reigned.

I do not know if they were known by the various tribes in Fiji as the Tui Viti but there are some very ancient stories from some tribes that hints on the existence of such a king. Its a story from an Island in Lomaiviti. The story says that once upon a time, a message came requesting a powerful warlord in Lomaiviti to rescue the 'Tui Viti' who was kidnapped and hidden in the Mountains of Naitasiri! The warlord and his army sailed to Viti Levu and entered through the rewa river under the cover of night sailing into the heartland. When they were spotted by the enemy, the warlord turned into a giant falcon which leveled all the enemy and rescued the 'Tui Viti'. In return, the Tui Viti made a promise to visit the warlord in his island. But something went wrong, but thats another story in itself!

People of savusavu etc are of. Tui viti are half samons tui viti is close the family of tui manu. Tonga is not powerful as you think only a few clans live there. The most powerful was the lauan kingdom powerful then tonga its the home of pulotu he was the 2nd fijian king to invade samoa and enslave them this is the bloodline of tui tonga. Tui viti is half samon from sina. If mafau won he would call him self tuiviti and tui lau his next mission was to invade his brother in tonga then he would come for samoa for revenge of what the malotia family so then send 10000 priceness to marry tui viti in. Bau.

Me and Kava are having a Real conversation and here you come with some made up BS. There was no enslavement of Samoans by Fijians only alliances/marriages and a few battles.

Thank you for the info we could actually learn alot from each other if we stop with all the arguing.

* Tui Fiti is well known in Samoan Legends and its interesting because before the Tui Tonga title ever existed Samoan Legends were mainly about Tagaloa/Tui Manu'a, Tui Fiti and Sina etc....

What you mean you white and native monkey? Maybe that's how one percent looks, the rest of Fijians do not look like that. Aryan, I'll accept it;but I do not believe it. You are speaking for yourself.

Be careful now..Tu'iTonga has alwayz been there. When you say TuiFiti,it was not necessarily the case...meaning,he was a Chief from Fiti, samoanz referred to him as TuiFiti, but he wasn't literally the King of Fiti(Tuiviti)... the timez you're referring too,are the timez of the TogaFiti ... offff course samoa don't remember Tu'iTonga at that time, coz TogaFiti clan invaded samoa before 'Aho'eituz time... ha ha ha ha trying to shut out Tu'iTonga...Get off your pepelo that Tuimanua is older than Tu'iTonga!!!... why do you think PingPong braggz TogaFiti??!.. i'm not sure what type of aryan race he talkin bout though lmaooo
you of all people should know hez pulling ya fellaz legz ha ha ha lol se he meanz aryan as in pure meauli lol.
