May I introduce another one of my smart threads ? I just like to point out. This thread is solely for those that have any knowledge about English football only. Brand new season is upon us again. Come next Saturday, the PL challenge is on. Place your expectations & tell us what team you support.

Round One is over. Manuni & red nosed Alex were beaten by Everton. MCity were lucky to win. Liverpoops got bombed. The ColdSpurs lost. Chelsea won easily. Everything went well.

I don't support one particular English team so I'm indifferent about who wins it as long as it is exciting season. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind if Wigan was relegated - it's just this team hasn't got "it" about itself. Tradition, players, fanbase... nothing. It's just dull. Not that different from WBA for me. Whereas there are so many tradition clubs stiffling in the lower leagues - Leeds Utd, birmingham City, Forest, the Sheffield teams, Derby, Crystal Palace etc.- that I think the Prem would be better off instead.

I am not sure what team should be playing in the PL or what team is better but the PL is the best football league in the world, to me. The competition among the teams is unmatched anywhere.

American businessman George Soros has bought a 7.85% stake in Manchester United. The Hungarian-born billionaire has a net worth of $20 billion. It looks like the Magayr is moving in to take over England´s beloved Manuni.

Apparently you have knowledge of English football but don't seem to have any sort of knowledge or intelligence about anything else. Yeah! You're not from Britain at all! You just happen to know almost nothing about the region around Slovakia. But, just happen to know everything about English football teams!

In the U.K I would support the Scottish Celtics because they had Polish Artur Boruc as their goalie in the past.

Typical limp-kielbasa, I might add. Just clueless as ever. I know more about PL than any idiot like you ever dreamed about. Luky, Chelsea is solely owned by the Russian. Invested almost 1 billion into the club since 2003. This year, alone, he bought players for over 65 million. The chap is filthy rich. Some say he is worth close to 11 billion.

Sure, Wigan has deserved its place in the PL first having won it and then succesfully defending it, by the skin of their teeth almost every season (I suppose this one will not be any different). One has to respect that. But imagine, say, Leeds taking their place - a club with traditions, following, decent stadium and ambitions topping Wigan's promoting and selling of players and fighting to stay put just to cash in the Prem's TV money at the start of each season.

Leeds are not good enough to be promoted. Yes, Wigan are jokers & their owner Whelan is one clown. Recently, Chelsea wanted to buy one of their better players V. Moses. Whelan came by & asked for 10m. Meanwhile, Chelsea offered 5.6m.

Well, that was just an example. You can put other bigger firms' manes in there, like Brum, Forest etc. Yeah, that's what I mean. Other than that they don't bring much to the Prem.

Other than that they don't bring much to the Prem. To me, PL is the best league in Europe. I do not know whether you follow it but I do watch many games through streaming, on TV if possible or even go live, just a couple of times during the season. The competition if pretty stiff. There are 4-5 perennial favorites to win the title. The others are just trying for years. As we all know, in today´s sports, money is the name of the game. Those that do have it, buy players & in turn win trophies.
